This position will be hybrid requiring a few days per week in office. You can be based in one of the WRI offices in Washington DC, London or The Hague. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission. WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

 

About the Program:

 

P4G – Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 – contributes to green and inclusive growth in low- and middle-income countries by helping early-stage climate businesses become investment ready and supporting national climate platform connections in food, water, and energy systems. Hosted by World Resources Institute and funded by Denmark, the Netherlands, and the Republic of Korea, P4G partner countries include Colombia, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Kenya, South Africa, and Vietnam. P4G provides grants and technical assistance to early-stage climate businesses within a broader partnership to improve their investor readiness. All partnerships are aligned to national priorities as defined in the NDCs and coordinated by each of P4G’s nine government led P4G National Platforms. The partnerships and the National Platforms engage together on sector specific policy and regulatory changes to enable business growth. P4G captures and mobilizes knowledge around these public-private pathways to increase the flow of global climate finance to local climate businesses.

 

Job Highlight:

 

Reporting to P4G’s Director of Communications, you will shape a communications and knowledge mobilization strategy for P4G and integrate partnerships communications strategies into the program strategy. You will develop and promote communications and knowledge products to showcase P4G’s partnerships and its activities to key external and internal audiences. This includes but is not limited to blogs, newsletters, social media, videos, op-eds, presentations, web content. You will work with teams to develop and share messaging with external and internal stakeholders and P4G’s communications channels to raise P4G’s profile and contribute to climate finance mobilization in P4G countries.

 

What you will do:

 

Communications and Knowledge Mobilization Strategy and Messaging (30%):

 

  • Shape the development and implementation of P4G’s communications and knowledge mobilization strategy and ensure all communications products are high quality and consistent with brand guidelines
  • Coordinate across the P4G team and external partners to gather and develop success stories of impact, case studies and learning, and present them across P4G’s communications platforms and to key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with partnerships on talking points and messaging ahead of funding and milestone announcements, events and convenings with government and private sector leaders
  • Coordinate with partnership and National Platform communications teams to expand P4G’s presence in the climate finance and sustainable development space
  • Lead the messaging and coordination for the biennial P4G Summit in 2025 and other global events

 

Digital Communications and Media (50%):

 

  • Lead and implement newsletter strategy including delivering at least 12 newsletters a year and maintain high read rate and facilitate subscriber growth
  • Oversee P4G’s social media to increase engagement with partnership successes
  • Assist with website management, including but not limited to creating and posting new content, updating existing pages and coming up with UI/UX improvements
  • Lead a media relations strategy for P4G and its partnerships to raise visibility among key stakeholders

 

Event Coordination (20%):

 

  • Create communications assets for P4G announcements and events (webinars, Summits, government meetings, investment sessions, workshops) including social media toolkits, newsletter content, event pages as needed
  • Assist with external vendor management including reviewing Expressions of Interest, maintaining communications, and providing feedback on deliverables.

 

What you will need:

 

  • Education: You have a bachelor’s degree in communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations, Environmental Studies, or related field; relevant work experience in lieu of degree is accepted
  • Experience: You have 5 years of relevant work experience in communications or related field
  • Highly proficient spoken and written communications across various formats including newsletters, social media, website, blogs, and op-eds
  • Experience implementing communications projects/processes
  • Ability to translate complex content into simple engaging communication assets
  • Ability to engage with external stakeholders from government, investment and business
  • Ability to contribute to the creation of key messages for diverse audiences and to contribute to the design and implementation of communication plans
  • Adept in basic MS Office and Adobe design tools, common social media tools and programs such as PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Canva
  • Knowledge of latest communications tools and technology including data tracking and analytics across social and website
  • Familiarity with website management and CMS systems (e.g. Drupal)
  • Experience with media tracking (Cision) and meeting tools (Zoom)
  • Broad knowledge of WRI major areas of work and audiences with emerging specialization in one or more substantive fields
  • International experience and/or bi-lingual and cultural competency highly desirable
  • Employ a collaborative approach to problem-solving
  • Languages: Proficiency in verbal and written English

Potential Salary:Salary range is between 84,000 and 92,000 USD (this salary range pertains to US candidates only).Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
