Role Overview

As the Communication Manager, you will be responsible for crafting and executing our communication strategy to enhance our brand visibility as the leading source for independent humanitarian data and analysis, maximise our impact, engage our audience, and drive our mission forward.
You will lead a team of communication professionals located in different countries and work closely with various departments to ensure a consistent and compelling narrative across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy Development: Design and implement a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with ACAPS’ vision and goals and contribute to amplify our voice and impact, and attract more donors. Provide strategic inputs to the Senior Management Team and advocate for data-driven approaches in organisational decision-making.
- Brand Management: Build and maintain a strong brand identity, ensuring all communications reflect our values and mission.
- Content Creation: Oversee the creation of high-quality content for various platforms, including press releases, social media, website, and internal communications and ensure every piece resonates with our audience and tells stories in the most impactful way.
Remain innovative, agile, and up to date with latest initiatives to enhance the organisation’s digital presence, optimising for user engagement and impact.
- Stakeholders and Medias Engagement: Develop and nurture relationships with external stakeholders, including partners, donors, influencers, and key media outlets to foster collaboration and secure positive coverage and manage public perception.
- Crisis Management: Lead crisis communication efforts, providing clear and effective responses to protect the company’s reputation.
- Team Leadership: Inspire, mentor, and manage a team of communication professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Ensure effective resource allocation.
- Metrics and Analysis: Monitor and analyse communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven improvements.
- Education: A degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years in communications, public relations, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (English), strategic thinking, and a creative mindset.
- Expertise: Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, and a strong understanding of digital media trends.
Understanding and use of data analysis, data visualisation, and graphic design tools are a big asset
- Attributes: A visionary leader with a passion for innovation, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment. A supportive manager with strong emotional intelligence, solid coaching skills, able to work closely with a diverse team of individuals.

In ACAPS, we provide an office space for team members to gather, share ideas, and get to know one another. Many of us also work from home or other ‘out of the office’ locations, splitting our time between home office and ACAPS office.
