The Role and Scope:
The Community Engagement and Socio-Emotional Behavior Expert is responsible for driving Plan International Bangladesh’s initiatives to empower communities through active engagement, particularly focusing on youth development. The role aims to cultivate leadership, cultural sensitivity, and inclusivity within communities to create an environment where individuals can thrive socio-emotionally and economically. This position emphasizes the development and implementation of life skills, soft skills, and employability training programs to support the holistic growth of community members.
What we’re looking for:
We need a self-motivated and energetic individual with Master’s Degree in sociology, anthropology, development studies, or other related disciplines. Who should have 10 years of experience working in the field of community empowerment through strengthening, engagement, and ownership development, especially in the field of youth development. Must have extensive professional knowledge of community dynamics, leadership structures, cultural sensitivity, and inclusivity for promoting an enabling environment and responsiveness along with proven skills in facilitating training, workshops, coaching, and mentoring others. He/she should have vast experience in developing life skills, soft skills, employability skills, and socio-emotional behavior programs with a special focus on manual design.
Demonstrate strong ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and handle unexpected tasks effectively. Should also have proficiency in the local language and experience working in the concerned division to ensure better communication with beneficiaries. Should have demonstrated capacity for strategic planning, program development, and implementation in community engagement projects. Along with excellent interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and community members.
