Under the supervision of the Resource Mobilization and Development Partnerships (RMDP) Unit of Development Partnerships Office (DPO), the incumbent will perform the following duties:
– Develop a practical, action-oriented plan that identifies clear entry points for private sector involvement in the EW4All initiative, focusing initially on Pillar 2. This will be achieved by reviewing the WMO EW4All Roadmap and activities table to pinpoint key areas where private sector engagement is critical for the successful delivery and sustainability of the initiative and provides attractive opportunities for businesses. The plan should emphasize tangible contributions from the private sector, such as key actions, infrastructure development and funding support;
– Collaborate with Force for Good to refine the draft, ensuring it is both appealing and feasible for private sector engagement. Utilize the provided templates as a guide for structuring and formatting the document;
– Based on available resources and capacity, consider expanding the private sector engagement plan to include select components of other Pillars;
– Develop a roadmap for the Alliance for Hydromet Development’s priority actions, outlining a long-term vision, key milestones, and outcomes;
Support DPO to finalize the concept and working arrangement of the Regional Partner Coordination Mechanisms (PCMs);
– Support development of a work plan on the Regional PCMs, emphasizing how to scale up to other regions and integrate with existing coordination mechanisms such as the World Bank-led Regional Hydromet Forums.
QUALIFICATIONS | ||
Education High level degree (Master or PhD) or equivalent in environmental sciences, international development, business management, social sciences, or related fields or a first level university degree in combination with two additional years of relevant experience. |

Experience Minimum 20 years of experience with partner engagement for hydrological and meteorological development projects. Experience in designing and delivering multilateral development bank operations is highly desirable. Minimum 10 years of experience in public-private engagement in hydrometeorological services. |

Languages Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of other official languages of WMO would be an advantage. (Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.) |
