Result of Service

• Report to the Human Rights Council on good practices on support systems to ensure community inclusion of persons with disabilities, including as a means of building forward better after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Duties and Responsibilities

The consultant will conduct research and draft a report mandated by the Human Rights Council. Tasks include:
o analysing the contributions by stakeholders and incorporation of inputs (good examples)
o undertaking research on the latest developments related to community based support systems and care related to persons with disabilities
o identifying good practices community based support systems and care related to persons with disabilities
o formulating recommendations for States, development actors and other stakeholders

Qualifications/special skills

Advanced degree in Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Law or other disciplines related to Public Policy
5 years of experience working on policy analysis and the rights of persons with disabilities, including on support and care systems in connection to disability.

Languages

English is required, Spanish is desired
