The objective of the Department of Nuclear Energy is to foster the efficient and safe use of nuclear power by supporting interested Member States in improving the performance of nuclear power plants, the nuclear fuel cycle, and the management of nuclear wastes; in catalysing innovation in nuclear power and fuel cycle technologies; in developing indigenous capabilities for national energy planning; in deploying new nuclear power plants; in preserving and disseminating nuclear information and knowledge; and in advancing science and industry through improved operation of research reactors.

Main Purpose

The consultant will provide technical expertise and input to flagship and other projects in the Department of Nuclear Energy.

Functions / Key Results Expected

• Provide input to the implementation of communication and outreach plans for NE flagship projects

• In close collaboration with the team, organize events, prepare talking points and write promotional articles for use in social media

• Develop reports, presentations for internal and external audiences, and support the review of the business continuity plan

• Provide technical expertise to the partnership and resource mobilization efforts through review of project proposals, perform research on non-traditional donors and draft correspondence as required

Qualifications and Experience

– Bachelor’s Degree – University degree in communication, media relations, political science, business administration or a related field

– Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in outreach and communication.

Remuneration

The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 150, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.
