Program Overview
WRI Indonesia is an independent research organization that turns big ideas into action at the nexus of environment, economic opportunity, and human well-being. At WRI Indonesia, we aim to bring innovations in research and business approaches to create the enabling conditions for Indonesia to achieve robust economic growth while respecting environmental and social values. We seek to contribute to the accomplishment of ambitious sustainable development goals through working with leaders in public and private sectors, as well as collaborating with civil society organizations, in turning big ideas into action.
To measure its impact, WRI established a new strategy to measure its impact through developing Theory of Change (ToC), hypotheses about the cause-and-effect links between WRI’s activities and outcomes and our intended impacts. ToC(s) identify key actors, risks, assumptions, social equity, and political economy considerations, as well as WRI’s comparative advantage. As one step in WRI’s revamped ToC(s) development process, Rapid Social Analysis (RSA) is required to be done by each department. An RSA is both an analytical approach and a process of collecting, interpreting, and applying information. The main purpose of the RSA is to identify recommendations for informing and/or revising a team’s regional/national/sub-national + sector-level ToC(s) (and other key strategy documents) to strengthen its integration of Gender and Social Equity (GSE) considerations, based on insights from desk research and stakeholder consultations.
