Organizational Setting

The Division of Information Technology provides support to the IAEA in the field of information and communication technology (ICT), including information systems for technical programmes and management. It is responsible for planning, developing and implementing an ICT strategy, for setting and enforcing common ICT standards throughout the Secretariat and for managing central ICT services. The IAEA’s ICT infrastructure comprises hardware and software platforms, and cloud and externally hosted services. The Division has implemented an IT service management model based on ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) and Prince2 (Projects in a Controlled Environment) best practices.

The Client Services Section (CSS) is responsible for setting standards, providing first and second level support of the IAEA’s desktop computing environment, delivery of the IAEA’s IT training programme and promoting client-oriented services. It designs, manages and implements desktop services, including their architecture, processes and policies to meet current and future business requirements. It aims at achieving the delivery of agreed levels of services to clients in compliance with best practices defined by international standards, in particular ITIL.

Main Purpose

The consultant will be located in the Client Service Section – Services Design Unit.

The purpose of the consultancy is to manage Microsoft Windows 11 endpoints, including hardware, operating systems, and installed software.

The consultant requires a comprehensive understanding of the entire hardware and software lifecycle, ensuring that the operating system and applications are up-to-date.

The consultancy involves effectively managing projects related to endpoints, documenting processes, and creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The consultant will work closely with other members of project and operations teams to plan and implement projects, as well as interact with staff from various organizational units and vendor companies to provide incident management and support cross-cutting projects and processes.

Functions / Key Results Expected

• Implement and manage modern workplace solutions for Windows 11 endpoints, including hardware, software, and updates. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and optimize performance.

• Improve endpoint security by introducing and enforcing security policies, implementing Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, conducting regular security assessments, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

• Automate management and security tasks using PowerShell scripts and other automation tools. Administer and manage Active Directory, EntraID, and conditional access policies to ensure secure and efficient access management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in IT managing Microsoft endpoints.
  • Expertise and proven knowledge and experience in the development of management of Microsoft Endpoints. Knowledge in using tools such as Intune, SCCM, EntraID, AD, GPOs.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft current modern workplace solutions and techniques.
  • Industry recognized and relevant certifications

Remuneration

The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 375, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.
