JOB DETAIL

Result of Service

• One (1) workshop on preventing online child sexual abuse and exploitation. For children, parents, teachers, and host community members. Compile a workshop report detailing findings and provide recommendations for future steps to be taken by the institutions.

• One (1) workshop in the provision of psychosocial support and other specialized support for victims of online CSEA. Compile a workshop report detailing findings and provide recommendations for future steps to be taken by the institutions.

• One (1) workshop on gender in cybercrime and cyber-enabled trafficking in persons. Compile a workshop report detailing findings and provide recommendations for future steps to be taken by the institutions.

• One (1) introductory workshop on criminal investigations involving the Dark Web. Compile a workshop report detailing findings and provide recommendations for future steps to be taken by the institutions.

• One (1) introductory workshop in criminal investigations involving Cryptocurrencies. Compile a workshop report detailing findings and provide recommendations for future steps to be taken by the institutions.

• One (1) preliminary version of the updated Judicial Gender Protocol in Trinidad and Tobago, including expert-generated recommendations and analysis regarding identified needs to enhance the management of digital evidence.

• One (1) workshop on how to handle digital evidence. Compile a workshop report detailing findings and provide recommendations for future
steps to be taken by the institutions.

• One (1) conclusive report comprises the expert’s recommendations and analyses about the identified needs to enhance digital evidence management.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Head of the Global Programme on Cybercrime, the consultant’s specific tasks are:
1. Design, develop, and conduct a series of six (6) workshops for Trinidad and Tobago Institutions
2. Strengthen the preliminary version of the Judicial Gender Protocol update to incorporate best practices for handling cases related to digital evidence in criminal proceedings, aligned with national and international standards.

Qualifications/special skills

An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in social sciences, law, law enforcement studies, international studies, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Cybercrime, or related area, is required. A first-level university degree in a related field, in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in law enforcement is required.

A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in Human trafficking or Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse is required.

Experience in implementing courses and/or training processes in the Security and Justice Sector related to security, intelligence, criminal investigation and/or criminal policy, strategic criminal prosecution, attention of victims, and other related areas is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in oral and written English, is required. Knowledge of any other UN official language is an advantage.
