Assignment/Activity: Provide expert guidance in developing holistic and multi-pronged intervention design for live bird market (LBM) aimed at improved biosecurity and hygiene measures. In addition, the consultant must comply with the overall Terms of Reference for the consultancy. In particular, She/he will cover the assigned task as planned under this consultation.

Scope of work: The consultant will work closely with the PI and co-investigators to support in implementing the holistic and multi-pronged intervention to the LBM.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Develop a holistic and multi-pronged intervention design and implementation plan for LBM
- Develop and finalize the biosecurity plan/SOP/guideline/monitoring and evaluation plan with detailed project plans
- Provide advice, scientific guidance and technical support to the team for project implementation and improvement
- Critically assess data quality, apply rigorous scientific analysis to derive meaningful inferences from data
- Guide team to analyze data and draw appropriate scientific inference
- Review project reports and scientific manuscripts
- Actively communicate and hold meetings with various stakeholders
- Collaborate with PI to present study findings to workshop/seminar/conference when needed
- Attend team meetings in-person/online when needed
Expected deliverables:
- Holistic and multi-pronged intervention design for LBM will be developed and finalized
- Biosecurity plan/SOP/guideline/monitoring and evaluation plan will be developed and finalized
- The findings from studies will be identified/charted and analyzed and tables with results shared
Required qualifications and experience:
- PhD Degree in veterinary epidemiology with a good academic record;
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of emerging infectious diseases including zoonoses control and surveillance and conducting research in LBM;
- Training on biosafety management and avian pathology;
- Must have publications in peer-reviewed journal as lead author in relevant areas.
