Assignment/Activity: This consultancy aims to provide expert opinion on the diagnosis of cervical cancer of the study participants based on the images of the cervix captured by study nurses in both primary and tertiary health care settings.

Location: Mohakhali, Dhaka

Expected start date of assignment: March 2024.

Duration: 84 days

Scope of Work:

The consultant will contribute to the project “Pocket colposcopy for screening of cervical cancer: Implementation research” of the Digital Health and Health Information Systems, Health Systems and Population Studies Division (HSPSD) and will be responsible for evaluating and classifying VIA (Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid) positive and/or pocket positive images as part of a Pocket colposcope study.

Specific Responsibilities:

Major responsibilities would include the following-

• Conduct technical evaluation of images taken from Pocket colposcope in study sites based on project protocols and guidelines.
• Classify images taken by study nurses at field sites
• Deliver reports to the study team in a timely manner.

• Guide PI and the study team to resolve any queries to maintain compliance with the work plan;
• Prepare proper documentation (recording and reporting) of assigned project activities in accordance with protocol

• Address technical issues in monthly team meetings face-to-face or virtually.

Required qualifications and experience:

• MBBS with MS or FCPS (Gynae & Obs.) with updated BMDC registration.
• At least 15 years working experience in the relevant field in a Public/Private Hospital or Clinic.
• Expertise in diagnostic skills.
• Candidates who have prior experiences with colposcope will be given preference.

• Strong interpersonal and excellent communication and writing skills in English;
