The Consultant will provide technical support to collect the required input data for modelling and software development. The consultant will attend periodical meetings with the PI to discuss, finalize and distribute the deliverables to deliver over the consultancy period and the minutes will be circulated articulating the deliverables for the next two months after each meeting.

Specific Responsibilities:

Major responsibilities would include the following-

• Explore the possible input data assets required to develop a predictive modelling algorithm for developing the CholOut EWS as per the project proposal and develop a list of data assets for inclusion in the model;
• Critically evaluate the mapped data sets for inclusion in the predictive modelling in consultation with the project PI and the project team;
• Report the findings of the exploration; produce a composite report and submit it to PI;
• Attend online group meetings to be held between icddr,b and project collaborators and other small task-specific group (data group, modelling group, software group) as required by the PI;
• Provide critical input in light of the subject matter expertise in the model-building exercise and software development.

Required qualifications and experience:

• PhD in Geography with excellent academic records;
• At least 15 years of working experience in projects involving geospatial techniques, climate change, disaster management, or water sector management.
• Strong interpersonal and excellent communication and writing skills in English;
