icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates for consultancy with the Maternal and Child Health under the Maternal and Child Health Division.
Assignment/Activity: The primary objective of this assignment (consultant) is to prepare a working paper documenting the development, specification and testing of the biodegradable icddr,b Q-Mat used for the identification of Post-partum Haemorrhage.
Location: Mohakhali, Dhaka
Expected start date of assignment: September 08, 2024
Duration: 2 months
Scope of work:
icddr,b has an ongoing project titled ‘Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights’ (AdSEARCH) which is a cross-divisional, multi-year research project supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Development (DFATD). The project aims to improve sexual and reproductive health (SRH) outcomes and realization of rights among different population groups with distinct SRH needs in Bangladesh through different research studies and activities.
The consultant will contribute to a research project titled “Integrating icddr,b Q-Mat in Maternal Health Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and learning from the demonstration in a public health setting” under an umbrella project named Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. The consultant must comply with the overall Terms of Reference for the consultancy. In particular, s/he will cover the assigned task as planned under this consultation. The consultant will report to his/her respective supervisor.
The consultant should provide intellectual input and produce the following:
- A working paper documenting the development, specification and testing of the biodegradable icddrb Q-Mat;
- Updating the composition/design of icddrb Q-Mat;
- Developing a protocol for a demonstration project.
Expected Deliverables:
- The working paper of the biodegradable icddrb Q-Mat;
- short report on updating the composition/design of icddrb Q-Mat;
- A protocol for a demonstration project.
Required qualifications and experience:
- MBBS;
- 20 years of experience in public health research specially in maternal health;
- Proven track of innovation particularly related to Post-partum Haemorrhage management.
