Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance of the Chief of HIV/AIDS Section, the consultant will work under the direct supervision of the UNODC Drug Use and HIV Expert to perform the following substantive duties:
a.) To continue the implementation of capacity building initiatives in the field of HIV prevention, treatment and care among people who use stimulant drugs through the delivery of regional and country-based trainings;
b.) To support UNODC with development of e-learning platform related to stimulant drugs;
c.) To organize the consultation with the representatives of the Sex Workers’ Network through engagement of community representatives.
Qualifications/special skills
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in social sciences, public health or in another relevant discipline is required. A first-level university degree in combination with additional years of qualifying professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
At least 7 years of experience in designing, developing and implementing HIV prevention, treatment and care and interventions for people who use drugs is required
Proven experience in developing training manuals and packages is required
Excellent communication skills are required
Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Power Point) and basic understanding of video production software is required
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency of English, with excellent drafting and communication skills, is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.
