The objective of the consultancy is to support officials from Ministry of Economy to better use new CGE Model by providing advance training program on the Use of GAMS .
The following activities will be implemented:
Act 1.1. Prepare the training materials on CGE modeling using GAMS.
Act 1.2. Deliver an advanced training workshop on CGE modeling using GAMS.

Duties and Responsibilities
Within the scope of technical assistance provided to MS and mainly under project on developing a CFE model to the UAE, the consultant will prepare the training materials and deliver five days advanced training on CGE modeling using GAMS to the officials from the Ministry of economy and trade in UAE.
The following activities will be implemented:
Act 1.1. Prepare the training materials on CGE modeling using GAMS.
Act 1.2. Deliver an advanced training workshop on CGE modeling using GAMS.

Qualifications/special skills
A Master degree or equivalent in Economics or any other related field. A PhD in Economics is an advantage.
All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in Economic research is required.
Experience in quantitative analysis and developing CGE Model is required.
Languages
Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA.
For this position, fluency in Arabic is required and fluency in English is desirable.
Note: “Fluency” equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and “Knowledge of” equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.
