Project Overview
The objective of hiring translation services for the Asia-Africa BlueTech Superhighway Project is to ensure the accuracy and reliability of translated documents. We primarily seek assistance reviewing existing translations to conduct sense-checks, ensuring the content effectively conveys the intended message across languages. This work aims to ensure the quality and clarity of all the reviewed materials from other languages to English language.

Scope of Work
For carrying out the abovementioned activities the consultant is expected to:
1. Document Review:
o Evaluate current translations to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency with the original content.
o Conduct sense-checks to verify that the translated text effectively conveys the intended message in the target language for the respective countries.
2. Translation from English:
o Translate finalized materials from English into the target languages of each respective country.
o Ensure that translations maintain the meaning, tone, and context of the original English material.
3. Quality Assurance:
o Identify any errors, inconsistencies, or mistranslations in the documents.
o Provide recommendations for improvements or revisions to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the translations.
4. Cultural and Linguistic Context:
o Consider cultural nuances and linguistic conventions specific to each country (Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines) during the review process.
o Ensure that the translated content is culturally appropriate and resonates with the target audience in each country.
5. Design Support:
o Adapt document designs to ensure they are visually appealing and appropriate for the target audience in each country.
o Ensure that any graphical elements, colors, and layouts align with cultural preferences and norms.
o Ensure that translated documents maintain proper formatting and layout consistency.
o Adjust text flow, images, and other design elements to accommodate language-specific text expansions or contractions.
6. Communication with Work Package Leads:
o Collaborating with Work Package Leads to gather feedback and address concerns regarding the translated and designed documents.
o Facilitate clear and effective communication between the translation and design team and Work Package Leads to ensure alignment with project objectives.
7. Country-Specific Details:
o Ensure translations accurately reflect the Portuguese language used in Mozambique, considering local idiomatic expressions and cultural references.
o Focus on the use of Swahili language that is widely understood and culturally relevant in Tanzania.
o Ensure that Swahili translations are appropriate for the Kenyan context, considering regional dialects and usage.
o Ensure translations into Bengali are accurate and culturally appropriate for the Bangladeshi audience.
o Ensure that Indonesian translations are clear, culturally relevant, and resonate with the Indonesian audience.
o Ensure Vietnamese translations are accurate and culturally suitable for the Vietnamese context.
o Ensure translations into Filipino effectively communicate the intended message and are culturally appropriate for the Philippine audience.

Budget
The interested agencies will be requested to provide a detailed budget proposal outlining professional fees, travel expenses (if applicable), and any other costs related to the consultancy. The budget should be submitted along with the application.
Evaluation and Selection
Applications will be evaluated based on the qualifications and experience of the consultant, the quality and feasibility of the proposed approach and work plan, the relevance of previous work examples and the most competitive proposal. Shortlisted agency may be invited for an interview or request additional information before final selection. This opportunity is open for all agencies.
