About this position
The Connectivity, Markets and Finance Division is looking for a professional with experience in socio-economic and financial evaluations, as well as in the development of evaluation plans and data-led methodologies.
You will work in CMF part of the IFD department. This team is responsible for address and support member countries in inclusive and environmentally sustainable productive development, the CMF Division assists member countries to overcome the financing barriers that limit their productive development. Areas of work include financial inclusion, financial and fiscal risk management, financial transparency, housing finance, public debt management, green finance, among others.
What you’ll do:
· Develop and implement data-led methodologies
· Support the processing of data from various sources
· Support the monitoring of data collection generated by the operations
· Present and discuss dashboards and visualizations of CMF results with IFD/CMF staff.
· Support the design of CMF operations in terms of cost-benefit, cost-efficiency and demand analysis aligned with vertical logic, usually in a context of limited information.
· Develop and implement appropriate approaches to carry out general economic analysis, including analysis of financial conditions (providing qualitative and quantitative evidence of the presence of significant credit restrictions and other financial frictions).
· Develop adequate methodologies to perform CB analysis for new areas of the Division such as the digital economy. Collaborate and negotiate with other divisions, particularly the Office of Strategic Planning and Development Effectiveness (SPD), to achieve this goal.
· Develop performance indicators and evaluation plans (including budgeting) for IFD/CMF operations, often in a context of limited information.
· Support in carrying out descriptive analysis of the data of the program, including assembly and identification of the most relevant variables.
· Use state-of-the-art quantitative econometric methods when necessary to unravel causal links and relationships.
· Collaborate with the specialists of the division advising on the best course of action in terms of data collection, analytical methods, and techniques.
· Support the preparation of project completion reports (PCR).
What you’ll need
· Education: Master’s in economics, finance, statistics or related.
· Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience. including development of economic analysis. Knowledge of the desired financial system. Proven experience working with large microdata sets (such as household surveys and microdata from financial institutions).
· Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.

Requirements:
· Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
