Contracts Officer in the Space Transportation and HQ Contracts Division, Contracts Department, Directorate of Commercialisation, Industry and Competitiveness (D/CIC)
Contracts Officers work in the Contracts Department in the Directorate of Commercialisation, Industry and Competitiveness. This opportunity is for a Contracts Officer position in one of the Contract Services in Paris responsible for the implementation of space transportation activities.
As an ESA Contracts Officer, you will have the crucial role of supporting the Project and/or Programme Managers in conducting all procurement and contractual aspects of ESA projects in the domain of space transportation and general procurement. You will also have the responsibility of ensuring that procurement activities are executed in compliance with the legal and industrial policy requirements set out in ESA’s Procurement Regulations.
You will be considered as part of the team of your assigned projects, but with an independent hierarchical reporting line to the relevant Head of the Contracts Service. This secures an appropriate level of independence to ensure impartiality, transparency and compliance within the procurement process.

A master’s in law, economics or from a business school is required for this post.

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.

In principle, recruitment will be within the advertised grade band (A2-A4). However, if the selected candidate has less than four years of relevant professional experience following the completion of the master’s degree, the position may be filled at A1 level.
