Location: Ottawa, Canada (Hybrid Mode*)

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the areas of business administration, Public administration, legal or paralegal studies, or governance.
  • Proficiency in French and English (reading, writing and speaking).
  • Eight years of progressively responsible management experience, working with senior executive leaders and Board members, or as a corporate governance professional in the private, public or not for profit sector.
  • An in-depth understanding of governance bodies, governance principles and corporate governance requirements.
  • An enhanced knowledge of global development issues and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and a solid knowledge of risk management.

You are:

  • A skilled communicator with excellent written, oral and facilitation skills.
  • Able to work with and influence high level members of boards, and/or senior executives and a variety of stakeholders.
  • Able to build relations at all levels due to your strong interpersonal, diplomatic and negotiating skills.
  • Discrete in dealing with confidential and /or highly sensitive and complex issues, and have a strong ability to think strategically.
  • Able to work across different cultures and nationalities.
  • Able to provide effective leadership, guidance and motivation to staff.

You are interested in:

  • Assisting the Board in the discharge of its oversight, foresight and fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Acting as a key liaison between the Chairperson, the President and the Board, as well as management, and building and maintaining effective relationships between these entities.
  • Providing strategic guidance and advice on corporate governance practices in compliance with the applicable legislation to ensure sound Board governance practice.
  • Managing secretariat services and ensuring the division is appropriately integrated and contributing to corporate priorities and initiatives.
  • Joining an organization that values and models diversity, inclusion, and equity.

Preference will be given to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada.

* Hybrid Mode: Have the flexibility to work in hybrid mode (Minimum 3 days out of 10 in the office).
