The Global Green Growth Institute internship program (also called “Grow Green” Program) provides a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The program is designed for talented and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to GGGI’s operations. The program allows selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the Institute and provides assistance and training in various professional fields in a multicultural environment. CURRENT OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a talented individual to work with us in the Cote d’Ivoire office on the project to support the implementation activities of the NDCP project which aims to support the Belier region of Ivory Coast to mobilize climate finance for the implementation of its territorial climate plan (PCT). Indeed, the GGGI benefits from a grant from the Climate Action Support Fund (PAF) of the NDC Partnership to develop a concept note or a bankable project document to be submitted to the climate windows in order to mobilize the resources necessary to finance the projects. priority actions of the Bélier region PCT.

The specific objectives of this GGGI support to the Bélier region are:

  • Analyze the political, institutional and regulatory framework and the mapping of the actors who contributed to the development of the PCT for the Bélier region;
  • Identify in the TCP action plan, the priority actions on which the concept note will be developed;
  • Identify the relevant funding windows for the project;
  • Develop the draft concept note;
  • Validate with stakeholders the draft concept note
  • Submit the concept note to the selected climate window.

Duties assigned to this intern position will include the following, but are not limited to:

Part-1: Administrative and secretarial work on the project

  • Preparation of administrative letters and ensuring the secretariat of the project ( writing and follow-up of letters received or transmitted)
  • Electronic and physical archiving of project documents (technical and financial documents)
  • Stakeholder database development and management
  • Support for the recruitment of suppliers and procurement

Part 2: Organization of meetings, workshops and field missions

  • Preparation and organization of meetings and workshops and follow-up of the resulting actions;
  • Preparation of field missions and monitoring of resulting actions;
  • Project logistics management support

Part 3: Reporting and communication on the project

  • Reporting of project meetings and activities
  • Quarterly, annual and final project reporting
  • Communication on the project and visibility of the GGGI

Part 4: Project Implementation

  • Research and literature review, particularly on the political, institutional and regulatory framework of decentralization and climate change in Côte d’Ivoire
  • Work closely with the project coordinator
  • Collaborate and build partnerships with project stakeholders.
  • Build relationships, identify stakeholders, and influence other teams within organizations and external teams.
  • Define analytical approaches to discover new information and make recommendations that improve processes.
ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for an internship, candidates must:

  • Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (final year), Master’s or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 24 months.
  • Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Institute’s work
  • Possess an excellent command of English and French.
QUALIFICATION
  • Qualification in one of the following fields: public policy, environmental or climate policy, economics, administrative management, land administration, project management, communication or another related field;
  • Previous experience assisting with project coordination, writing meeting, assignment and project report;
  • Previous experience in project or program management;
  • Fairly good knowledge of Côte d’Ivoire’s decentralization and climate policy;
  • Previous experience in corporate and projects communication;
  • Previous experience in managing office administration and logistics;
  • Proven computer literacy in standard office software applications, as well as a willingness to learn new tools;
  • Ability to work/deliver under time pressure;
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds and time zones.
SELECTION PROCESS
  • Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
  • GGGI evaluates applications based on: eligibility requirements, relevance of academic study and work experience (if any); and the level of interest and motivation to contribute to development work.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Duration: The internship program is for at least three months and up to six months. Once selected, interns must begin your internship either prior to or within 12 months of graduation.

Stipend: GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD $500 per month (unless agreed to be funded by sponsoring institutions). All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns themselves or sponsoring institutions.

Visa: GGGI will provide a supporting letter for visa. Interns will be responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas.

Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location.

Medical Insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI upon returning the signed internship contract.

Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.

Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.

Working Hours: Interns are expected to work during normal working hours. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly.

Learning Outcomes: Before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern.

Certificate: Provided upon successful completion of the internship, upon request.
