The Role:

The Country Manager – Humanitarian Action leads and supports the quality management of a gender transformative humanitarian preparedness and response actions addressing issues critical to girls, boys, their families and communities in Bangladesh. S/he ensures program work is deployed within the standards of the profession, best practice, and evidence-based thinking, and provides technical guidance as part of continuous learning and extend necessary technical leadership. Together with other functional department (e.g. PDL, Sys & Ops , HR & OD and GRH etc. ) of Bangladesh country program, the post holder ensures management support to emergency response project, lead programme development/resource mobilization and grants management activities, participate in and support research and capacity development initiatives, support the development of communications materials, and contribute to all other aspects of EPR activities aimed to improve the lives of children, families and communities where Plan works.

The Country Manager – Humanitarian Action leads and supports in developing organizational preparedness that include coordinate with program and functional hub to develop and accountable to implementation plan of “Ready to Response “plan that aim to build country capacity in humanitarian response action with speed and scale. The post holder task to lead socialization the approach/process of Humanitarian programming and operation and develop professional humanitarian culture within Bangladesh country program. The post holder act as key focal to coordinate representation of PIB in key technical working group, cluster and different national & international humanitarian platform internally and externally.

What we’re looking for:

We need a self-motivated and energetic individual with Master’s in any discipline preferably in Disaster Management from a reputed university and minimum 3 years’ of working experience in leading organizational humanitarian program. The person should have significant field experience in developing and managing DRR, CCA and humanitarian response programmes. Also, have Demonstrated experience of key practice and standards for humanitarian response e.g. CHS/ Red Cross/NGO Code of Conduct, SPHERE and its companion guides (Child Protection Minimum Standards and Minimum Standards for Education Preparedness, Response and Recovery and the CHS). Should be conversant with the international humanitarian architecture, particularly related to coordination and funding. Requires general finance, administration, information management and telecommunication skills and proficiency in information technology/computer skills. Strong partnership management skills, has the ability to manage mutual expectations and complex relationship and to maintain positive communications and relationships. Proficiency in English, computer application and internet (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe, internet browsing), as well as telecommunication is also desired. Ability to contribute project proposal development initiatives and programme management including planning and scheduling, process design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation is added advantage.
