Duties and Accountabilities:
• Strategy: Collaborate with the Regional Manager and Strategy Unit to formulate strategy documents, spearhead the implementation of IFC’s strategy, and draft relevant business plan updates.
• Business development: Acquire and maintain a solid understanding of the countries’ economic and political landscapes, aid in the rollout of IFC’s strategy, cultivate solid relationships with stakeholders, and monitor project pipelines and transactions. Drive business development efforts across industries. Uphold a robust network with key private sector individuals across industries, incorporating both local and Foreign Direct Investors (FDIs).
• Portfolio management: support portfolio management, address challenges, and sustain client relations.
• Event Management and Briefs: Pinpoint collaboration opportunities, plan visits, and draft briefs for WB senior leaders.
• WB Collaboration: Champion thought leadership and exchange of knowledge with government partners and clients on pivotal themes resonating with IFC’s strategy, emphasizing private capital mobilization. Explore avenues for cross-institutional collaborative ventures with IBRD.
• Relationship management with development partners: Engage frequently with development partners (EU, International Finance Institutions, bilateral development agencies) in the countries, especially on subjects relevant to private sector development. Identify prospects for programmatic collaboration and participate in relevant economic reform dialogues.
• Representation: Represent IFC at key events, address inquiries, and back the Regional Manager as necessary. When required, act as the spokesperson for IFC.
• Office management: Ensure the efficient operation and security of the IFC offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. Supervise IFC personnel in the IFC Sarajevo office and, as needed, in Montenegro, managing office tasks.
Selection Criteria
• Advanced degree with 8 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in finance, business administration, management, economics, or a connected domain.
• Over a decade of pertinent experience in investment, commercial banking, public-private engagements, management consultation, or akin capacities.
• Proven capability in fostering and upholding relationships with the private sector, governmental bodies, and development allies.
• Prior experience in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro is beneficial.
• Established connections within the Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro governmental realm, especially with agencies that can bolster IFC’s business development efforts.
• Aptitude for discerning business prospects and risks, coupled with inventive thinking towards potential investment opportunities.
• Proficient analytical, financial, credit, and transaction structuring acumen is a plus.
• Comprehensive understanding of IFC’s investment and advisory sectors and offerings.
• A team-oriented individual with pronounced interpersonal prowess and the ability to function in a matrix setup.
• Emphasizes client service, problem resolution, and critical assessment.
• Skilled in Excel, Word, PowerPoint with impeccable English communication abilities; proficiency in regional languages is a significant plus.
