Position Title: Cross-Site Mental Health Coordinator

Reports to: Cross-Site Mental Health Officer

Location: Employees in this role can work from our Boston, MA office, remotely within the U.S. or hybrid of these two options (15% domestic and/or international travel)

Position Overview: The Partners In Health (PIH) Cross-Site Mental Health Coordinator will provide coordination and administrative support to the PIH Mental Health team, facilitating mental health program implementation across global care delivery sites. This role also involves supporting the Cross-Site Mental Health Learning Collaborative and managing communications within and outside PIH as appropriate. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in program management or administration, a keen interest or background in global mental health, and experience living and working in resource-limited settings. The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to deliver high-quality outcomes is essential. We are looking for someone with strong verbal and written communication skills, a basic understanding of monitoring, evaluation, and learning principles, and comfort in collaborating with culturally diverse colleagues.

Responsibilities:

Cross-Site Coordination and Programmatic Support (30%)

  • Coordinateactivities of PIH mental health programs and teams in Haiti, Kazakhstan, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mexico, Navajo Nation, Peru, Rwanda, Sierra Leone and the United States. Keep abreast of ongoing needs and liaise with various teams to ensure timely follow through oftasks, providing program coordination and assistancewhen appropriate.
  • Coordinate activities with other US Coordination Site branches (Governance & Organizational Ecosystem Branch, Resource Generation Branch, Resource Management Branch, and Theory of Change Branch) to foster opportunities for mental health advocacy, partnerships, and integration.
  • Support daily processes of high priority grant activities including scheduling meetings, tracking deliverables, and writing reports.
  • Support routine monitoring and evaluation activities including facilitating updates to data systems, compiling key indicators, and documenting impact through data visualizationacross PIH Mental Health programs.
  • Support program coordination of hospital and university partnerships including key initiatives in Sierra Leone and Rwanda for psychiatry education.
  • Coordinate and support development of training, curriculum development, and e-learning initiatives and materials.

Communication (30%)

  • Communicate regularly and coordinate meetings with U.S. Coordination Site and care delivery site-based teams. Maintain a regular team calendar, oversee meeting agendas and note-taking, coordinate stakeholder schedules.
  • Maintain and develop external and internal dissemination materials about PIH Mental Health programs including a monthly newsletter, website content, external resource library materials, brief documents, infographics, presentations, and reports.
  • Communicate with and foster relationships with visitors, volunteers, collaborators and external partners as appropriate.

Cross-Site Mental Health Learning Collaborative (20%)

  • Organize and coordinate cross-site initiatives, such as the Cross-Site Mental Health Learning Collaborative calls, knowledge exchange initiatives, and cross-site resource library.
  • Identify and support planning, implementation, and logistics of virtual and in-person international workshops, capacity building initiatives, and conferences.
  • Curate and maintain knowledge management systems for training materials and resources for PIH employees and external partners.

Administration (20%)

  • Oversee coordination of in-person and virtual meetings, travel, events, and conferences for Cross-Site Mental Health team and care delivery site-based colleagues.
  • Compile and submit relevant financial reports as required including overseeing expense reports and credit card reports. Assist with budgeting and grant management when appropriate.
  • Support recruitment, contract development, onboarding, coordination, and knowledge management systems for internal and external volunteers, collaborators, and global mental health consultants, including psychiatrists at partner institutions and hospitals.
  • Support with administration of academic and hospital partnerships including communication, recruitment, travel, and resource development.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and IT teams to procure supplies for the Cross-Site Mental Health programs when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in public health, social work, psychology, or related field strongly desirable; plus 1-2 years of experience in program coordination, public health, mental health, communications, and working in resource limited settings.
  • 3-4 years of relevant work experience can be substituted for a degree.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, including experience writing external newsletters, articles, reports, and academic papers.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization using tools such as Microsoft (MS) Excel, MS PowerBI, and CommCare.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite and Teams collaboration platforms.
  • Strong graphic design skills, with experience in online graphic design tools such as Canva, Esri ArcGIS/StoryMaps, MailChimp, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Proficiency in English required. Fluency or proficiency in Spanish or other languages considered an asset.
  • Ability to prioritize and take initiative on multiple and complicated tasks. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to a team setting. Exemplary interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a wide variety of constituents and culturally diverse staff across departments and countries.
  • Interest in social justice strongly desirable.

Pay and Benefits

The pay for this position at commencement of employment is $46,000/year.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan with employer match, as well as participate in organization-sponsored medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Full time employees will receive 15 days of vacation, 12 sick days, 3 personal days, and 3 volunteer days in addition to paid time off during the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day, the week of July 4th, and 11 additional holidays annually.
