Consultant – Cultural Heritage and Creative Industries (Research and Project)

Remuneration: 80,000-100,000 BDT per month (based on the experiences)
1. Background:
UNESCO Dhaka is implementing a project with three main components: (1) A rapid assessment of the impact on heritage and creative industries; (2) The development of an action plan for recovery and safeguarding of cultural assets; and (3) A social media campaign to raise awareness of the importance of protecting cultural heritage in emergencies.
The Consultant will play a central role in managing the implementation of the project on the ground. The position will ensure effective coordination between implementing partners, national stakeholders, and international experts. The Consultant will also monitor the research process, oversee contract and budget management, and ensure that UNESCO’s standards for project visibility and operational integrity are met.
2. Objective:
The Consultant is responsible for the overall coordination, field-level implementation (mainly Dhaka and Mymensingh), and monitoring of project activities. The Consultant will work closely with national researchers, government partners, and implementing organizations to ensure the timely execution of the project while maintaining high-quality standards. Additionally, the Consultant will manage contracts, financial activities, and logistics, including travel and accommodation for international experts.

Education:
Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Cultural Heritage Management, Social Sciences, International Development, Anthropology, Archaeology, Anthropology, Arts, or a related field.
The Consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Head of Culture Programme at UNESCO Dhaka and under the guidance of the Head of Office. Regular coordination meetings will be held to review progress and resolve any emerging challenges. The position is offered on an 11-12-month contract, with a possibility of extension based on project performance and funding availability. The monthly remuneration will be 80,000-100,000 BDT. Remuneration is subject to review based on performance and deliverables.
