About the position 
The Green Campus Initiative is currently seeking a professional in the field of Data Engineering and Web Development. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for leveraging data science techniques and web development skills to create data-driven web applications and solutions. This includes managing data analysis, machine learning, and web development to design, build, and maintain interactive web platforms that provide
valuable insights and user-friendly experiences.
The position will be based in the operations center of the Americas, located in the Campus of Palmira, Colombia.
 
Responsibilities

Perform extract, transform, and load (ETL) operations to transfer data from various source systems into a data warehouse. This involves creating and maintaining ETL pipelines to ensure data accuracy and consistency while implementing data validation and error-handling processes.

Use tools like Power BI to craft engaging data visualizations.
Design and develop interactive web applications and user interfaces with a focus on responsiveness
and visual appeal. Employ front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create user- friendly experiences. These applications als integrate with back-end systems and databases for data retrieval and storage and can connect to both external and internally developed APIs for data retrieval
and integration.
Maintain documentation detailing data sources, methodologies, and code. Additionally, provide end- users with documentation on how to use the web applications effectively.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, designers, and backend developers,
to deliver holistic solutions. Gather and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine and improve web applications.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in data science and web development technologies.

 

Requirements

 
Qualifications and requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, or related fields.
Specialization, or training courses in data, computer science, or similar.
Proven experience in data analysis, Business intelligence, and web development.
Knowledge of programming languages like Python, JAVA, JavaScript, and SQL.
Experience in Power BI, data warehousing, ETL processes, and database management.
Frontend development skills, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with experience in frameworks like React or Angular.
Familiarity with backend development technologies and databases.
Intermediate English level (oral and written).
Competences 
Excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication.
Attention to detail and proper work planning.
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Terms of employment  
This is a national recruited position placed at a BG07, on a scale of 14 levels, with level 14 being the highest.  This is a Colombian national search and will be managed through a fixed-term contract of a one (1) year period, subject to a probation period according to the local legislation and is renewable depending on performance and availability of resources.
