This is an exciting opportunity to work in close collaboration with the Product Lead – Data Collection to identify, document, and support the existing data collection processes in NRC. This includes gaining a deep understanding of the purpose, ownership, and utilization of the collected data and data collection platforms. You will conduct and support stakeholder interviews to gather valuable insights and perspectives.
What we are looking for:
NRC is seeking a highly qualified “Data Collection Coordinator” with experience in IT projects and with demonstrated experience with data collection solutions in the development and/or humanitarian sector.
What you will do:
Some of your specific responsibilities include:
- Support the implementation of the NRC Collect including capturing processes and best practices for the collection, management, storage, and dissemination of data.
- Identify and document key data collection processes, including their intended use and ownership.
- Identify technical & non-technical challenges and limitations of the current data collection processes.
- Facilitate key stakeholder interviews to gather key insights and perspectives on migration.
- Provide trainings and support where needed.
- Support the running of the Steering Committee.

What you will bring:
- Proven experience with IT projects.
- Demonstrated experience with data collection solutions in the development and/or humanitarian sector.
- Strong understanding of the value of data and its potential use cases.
- Experience with hands on data management.
- Experience in working with end-users to gather and document both functional and technical requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related subjects, or demonstrable expertise in the field.
- Advanced analytical skills and problem-solving attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable working with a geographically distributed team, and can easily work with non-technical colleagues.
- Capable of operating in an “Agile” environment.
- Fluency in written and spoken English. Other languages are an asset.
- Proactive in keeping up to date with industry trends and innovation.
What we offer:
- Duty station: NRC Berlin – Germany.
- Contract: Contract period up to 31st December 2024 – with the possibility of further extension depending on the project status and financial availability.
- Salary/benefits: Grade 7 on NRC’s regional salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.
