The burden of disease experienced by severely malnourished infants is significant in low-income countries. Gut dysbiosis, an imbalance in microbial composition, is thought to play a role in nutrient malabsorption, leading to underweight infants and failure to thrive. Supplementation with B. infantis strain has been shown to colonize the gut and is associated with significant changes to fecal microbiome composition in healthy breastfed infants.This is a clinical trial to demonstrate increased weight gain with B.infantis supplementation in underweight infants (WAZ<-2).

Key responsibilities:

The Data Management Assistant will report to Principle Investigator and will be responsible for:

• Ensuring proper data entry and cleaning;
• Preparing study updates;
• Performing data analysis in statistical software SPSS, Stata, and R;
• Performing appropriate analysis in order to publish in peer-reviewed international journals;
• Preparing figures and tables in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc;

Required qualification and experience:

• Bachelor in Statistics;
• 1 year of experience in relevant field,
• Specialization on SPSS, STATA, R and other statistical software would be preferred;
• Experience in analyzing large datasets for scientific publication would be an added advantage.

Location: Dhaka

Contract Type and duration:

• CSA basis for 04 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Tk. 35, 867/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
• Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
