The salary range is $85,000 – $110,000.
Position Overview
The UN Foundation’s Our Future Agenda is designed to harness the energy, innovation, and leadership of young people and young countries to drive significant change in global governance and address critical challenges. The program focuses on intergenerational leadership, policy innovation, and creating strategic partnerships to foster a more inclusive and resilient future.
This position is based in New York, NY.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the program’s research activities, including identifying knowledge gaps, designing research methodologies, and ensuring the collection of high-quality data. Collaborate with knowledge partners to conduct in-depth analysis and produce reports and other knowledge products that inform strategic direction and are integrated into program strategies.
- Ensure that knowledge generated through the program is shared widely, developing content for publications, policy briefs, and digital platforms. Advocate for policy changes and increased support for program themes, leveraging research findings and partnership networks to influence global policy agendas.
- Advocate for policies that support youth empowerment and the program’s objectives, working closely with UN agencies, governmental bodies, and key stakeholders to support program objectives. Represent the program in external forums, building relationships that enhance program visibility and impact.
- Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation framework to assess program impact, gathering data to measure progress against objectives. Prepare regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and lessons learned, sharing insights with funders, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with development of grant proposals and lead and/or support exploratory conversations with the prospective funders. Coordinate grant reporting and support deliverable management for existing grants.
- Work closely with the Senior Director and other team members to ensure a cohesive approach to program delivery within the scope, time, and budget established. Support joint coordination and collaboration efforts across the UN Foundation New York Office, especially during member state convenings and UN events, and take on special projects.
Selection Criteria
- Advanced degree in international relations, public policy, development studies, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in program management, preferably in international development or global governance.
- Strong network within UN agencies, governmental bodies, and other stakeholders in the global policy space, including think-tanks, foundations, and CSOs.
- Experience in research coordination, partnership development, and advocacy in a global context.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strategic relationships and advocating for policy change.
- Commitment to the values of intergenerational leadership, inclusivity, and resilience.
- An entrepreneurial and strategic thinker with a demonstrated passion for youth empowerment, future generations, global cooperation, and driving social change.
- Proficiency in one or more other UN languages is desirable.
- Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as required.
