Job Description:

Design Monitoring and Evaluation (DME) Officer

 

The Role:

The Design Monitoring and Evaluation (DME) Officer will support projects & M&E activities by providing technical assistance in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on the achievement of project results. The DME Officer will support projects under the Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) department in Puntland. The position holder will also help in the planning and implementation of the organization’s DME activities. S/he will be responsible for guiding the overall implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and accountability-related activities within the projects and providing timely and relevant information to the project staff.

Essential:

  • Degree in Social Sciences/ Statistics/ Community Development/ Development Studies or any related field.
  • Analysis using quantitative and qualitative methods including the use of participatory methods and tools for planning, monitoring, and Evaluation.
  • Knowledge of the SPHERE standards, Humanitarian Accountability Partnership; other international humanitarian standards, and other capacity-building skills.
  • Minimum of three years’ work experience in community-based programming, or work with NGOs or humanitarian agencies of which at least two years must be in MEAL, with a bias to Livelihood, Nutrition, and Relief.
  • Application of mobile data collection, preparation of questionnaires and XLS forms, data management and analysis, and preparation of high-quality analytical reports.
  • Working knowledge of English and Somali local language
  • Computer literacy requires a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Statistical Package as SPSS

Working Environment:

The position is based in Galkacyo-South Gal-Mudug with 60% domestic travel to the field required.
