Mission and objectives

The founders of the Africa Youths for peace and Development having seen harsh realities which are being experienced by the entire continent as a result of war and the consequent violence galore which follow, decided to form the organization with the vision of continental integration for peace and development for youths in the continent. It is the belief of this organization that violence achieves no meaningful goal. Africa Youth for Peace and Development organization was formed 1995 and was finally registered in the year 2000 under the ministry of youth and sport in Sierra Leone, as a voluntary, youth development organization that aims at organizing, empowering and creating opportunities for youths and Youths groups that are in difficult circumstances. VISION To achieve a peaceful, integrated, and developed Africa where every young person, regardless of their socio-economic background, has the opportunity to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society. MISSION AYPAD is committed to empowering and advocating for youth across Africa by creating sustainable opportunities for development and social integration. Through capacity building, education, sports, and cultural activities, we strive to uplift the lives of disadvantaged and marginalized youth, fostering a generation of leaders dedicated to peace and positive societal change. GOALS 1. To provide education, training, and advance employment opportunities that empower youth, particularly the marginalized and disadvantaged. 2. To promote peace and social cohesion by engaging young people in activities that foster understanding, tolerance, and unity. 3. To facilitate sustainable agricultural practices and environmental initiatives that contribute to the overall well-being of communities. 4. To strengthen the capacity of youth to advocate for their rights and actively participate in community development.

Context

Africa Youth for Peace and Development (AYPAD) has long been committed to empowering African youth and professionals through capacity building, education, and sustainable development initiatives. The Trainer International Project is part of a larger effort to address global knowledge gaps by equipping professionals with advanced research tools and fostering a culture of innovation. Volunteer contributions play a pivotal role in this initiative. Trainers, coordinators, and support staff collaborate to design, deliver, and evaluate courses, ensuring they meet international standards while addressing local needs. Task Description

We are seeking 1 online volunteer to Design Training materials on Use of SurveyMonkey in Data Collection. As a volunteer, you will structure the material into three Parts. Part (A): Canvas Notes Word Document Part (B): Lecture Slides PowerPoint Part (C): Marking Guide Word Document Part (A): Canvas Notes Word Document: Structure a Word document which will be submitted to Canvas. The Word document must have the following 1. Lecture Notes (Text, Images, Tables & Illustrative Videos -Paste a YouTube Link) 2. One Open Ended Discussion Question. 3. One Take-home Question for Assignment. 4. 25 Multiple-choice questions. Part (B): Lecture Slides PowerPoint: You will Structure your Teaching slides to have the following 1. Summarize the Lecture Notes (Text, Images, Tables & Illustrative Videos -Paste a YouTube Link) 20 slides 2. One Open Ended Discussion Question. 3. One blank slide (5 minutes break). 4. Reference Materials(References and their links) Part (C): Marking Guide Word Document: You will Structure your Marking Guide to have the following 1. 25 Multiple-choice questions as presented in the Canvas Notes Document. 2. Highlight The Most correct Answer(s) Prior to the assignment, the Online Volunteer will receive an orientation session, during which they will receive guidance on the task and provided the documentation, information and references required to complete it.
