This is a hybrid position that requires 8 days/month in the office. You can be based in the Netherlands or the UK. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission as WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

 

About the Program:

 

Communications is crucial to WRI’s ability to bring about rapid, systemic changes to the health of society and the planet. The WRI Core Communications team works to expand WRI’s reach, reputation, and impact, and oversees strategy and outreach for the Institute in support of WRI leadership, programs, and country/regional offices.

 

Job Highlight:

 

Reporting to Global Director for Digital Communications, you will support a wide range of WRI’s digital marketing and communications activities including social media, email, and paid advertising campaigns and website content management, content marketing, analytics and search optimization. Using your technical expertise and experience, you will help to strengthen our capacity to expand the external reach and impact of our work both at a broad institutional level and for specific program initiatives. You will also help WRI communicate and engage with its global network of employees by supporting content updates to its internal intranet platform. You will collaborate with, support, and be supported by team members within the Core Communications team, and various communications staff members across WRI.

 

What will you do:

 

Digital content and asset production (50%):

 

  • Help create content for WRI’s core social media channels including eye-catching visuals using best practices and channel-specific functionality
  • Write, edit and proofread copy for online articles, webpage updates, and email marketing campaigns
  • Develop and build out new email marketing campaigns and templates

 

Digital communications and marketing campaign support (25%):

 

  • Support the management of the organization’s email marketing platform and mailing lists
  • Participate in the development and execution of digital marketing campaigns and strategies including paid social and search campaigns
  • Track and report on analytics for websites, email, social media and other digital communication platforms

 

Website content management(25%):

 

  • Post content updates to WRI.org and other websites using a content management system such as Drupal or WordPress
  • Conduct photo research for articles and other online content, drafting pithy and accurate captions and/or appropriate and accessible alt text
  • Post news items and update page content for WRI’s intranet using the Microsoft SharePoint collaboration platform

 

What will you need:

 

  • Education: You have completed a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field
  • Experience: You have minimum of 3 year of full-time relevant work experience supporting digital communications and marketing activities including social media, email marketing, website content management, content marketing, SEO, and digital analytics
  • Experience tracking and managing multiple tasks and requests, and communicating and collaborating effectively with a large number of internal stakeholders in a globally dispersed organization
  • You are comfortable writing and editing online content for the web, and have a keen eye for visuals
  • Familiarity with Asana project management software, Canva, HTML/CSS, Drupal, WordPress and/or SharePoint a plus
  • Languages: Verbal and written English fluency required. Other languages a plus
  • Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization

 

Potential Salary: If based in the UK the salary is between 38,000 to 45,000 GBP

If based in the Netherlands the salary is between 49,000 to 58,000 Euro

Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors. WRI offers a competitive renumeration and benefits package.
