Digital Fundraising Manager, Retention

This position plays a lead role in executing the digital fundraising strategy for monthly and one time giving donors, maximizing revenue from existing supporters through retention and acquisition activity, with a focus on email marketing. Reporting to the Head of Digital Fundraising, the individual’s role is to operationalize, manage and analyze the effectiveness of donor retention initiatives through email and other digital channels to ensure financial targets are achieved. RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Planing & Execution:
- Working closely with the Head of Digital Fundraising, other direct marketing channel managers and the communications team – and other key stakeholders as required – the Digital Fundraising Manager will develop and execute a multi-channel digital fundraising and retention plan, with email marketing as the central channel.
- Manage the retention strategy – including upgrade, conversion to monthly giving and reactivation – by identifying donor segments, creating email journeys, building a content strategy, and developing tactics that align with engagement and stewardship initiatives.
- Identify new and creative strategies to enhance donor loyalty; develop plans to reach retention targets; ensure ongoing testing and optimization.
- Ensure that all retention and financial targets are met across all digital channels
- Support acquisition efforts on digital channels through collaborative projects
Tracking, Reporting & Analytics:
- Provide regular reporting to key stakeholders.
- Ensure that all KPIs, retention and financial targets are met across all digital channels.
- Adjust budget allocation from low-performing to high-performing areas as required.
- Develop and monitor clearly defined metrics of success for all digital retention activity, providing regular reporting to key stakeholders.
- In collaboration with other channel managers, identify and work towards shared targets and measures of success.
- Based on campaign performance, recommend adjustments as needed
- Track expenses against budget, ensure the timely processing of invoices, flag potential issues.
Vendor/Stakeholder Management:
- Manage vendors on a day to day basis to the responsibilities and metrics of success outlined in the contract and statement of work.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and quality of vendor services and/or support.
- Perform annual audits / review of vendors.
- Support vendor selection process where required through identification of requirements, development of RFP’s and selection process as required.
- Works cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to ensure integration and alignment of activity across channels and portfolios
WHAT YOU BRING
In order for you to carry out these duties, we believe that you are brining the following education and sets of skills.
Qualification, Knowledge & Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in email marketing and fundraising; experience working at an INGO or other non-profit preferred.
- Proven success in meeting or exceeding retention and fundraising targets through email marketing and other digital or cross-channel tactics.
- Training or certification in a related discipline such as email marketing, digital marketing, fundraising, sales or the equivalent combination of experience and education preferred.
- Proficiency in Blackbaud Luminate or other online giving tools (SCC currently operates in a Blackbaud environment with a planned migration to Salesforce in 2024)
- Intermediate proficiency in HTML & CSS
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Data savvy; experience using CMS and CRM systems for data management, content creation and campaign deployment; familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, and other reporting and analytics tools.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in digital fundraising and marketing, and familiarity with trends in the Canadian market.
