Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for an innovative and mission-driven Digital Workplace Architect. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing digital solutions within the Microsoft 365 platform. Those solutions will seek to empower our dedicated colleagues who operate in some of the most challenging and remote areas of the world. Your work will enhance the efficiency, connectivity, and security of our digital workplace, directly impacting the lives of the most vulnerable populations we serve.
About the job
You are part of Global IT Department in DRC headquarter in Copenhagen and you work closely with our IT colleagues in Poland and in 40+ countries. The IT team has a broad cultural background and is fully dedicated to DRC’s mission.
In that context, you will lead the adoption journey of M365, you collaborate with the broad organisation to define the global needs and you design the platform that fits the organisation requirements.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Design & Implementation: Continue successful deployment of our digital workplace solutions across the 40+ countries and many units in DRC’s global operations.
- Innovation: Act as both catalyst and guardian of digital tools meeting the unique needs of humanitarian fieldwork, ensuring accessibility and usability in low-bandwidth and remote environments.
- Integration: Ensure integration of digital workplace technologies with existing systems and workflows, promoting a unified and efficient operational framework.
- User-Centric Approach: Collaborate with end-users, including field staff and local partners, to gather feedback and continuously improve digital tools, ensuring they meet the real-world needs of our humanitarian missions.
- Security & Compliance: Implement robust security protocols and ensure compliance with data protection regulations, safeguarding sensitive information and communications.
- Training & Support: Develop and deliver training programs to empower staff at all levels of digital literacy to effectively utilize digital workplace tools and solutions.
- Leadership: Manage stakeholder expectations. Plan and follow-up on prioritised activity road map. Coordinate the workload across the architect role and two DWP development and support consultants.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have at least 5 years documented experience with M365. You know how to leverage key IT methodologies and demonstrate the ability to turn challenge into opportunity – with colleagues within and outside the IT organisation. You are innovative, pragmatic and focused on delivering solid solutions within DRC strategy and mission. You enjoy working in an international environment with an informal atmosphere and varied daily activities. Moreover, we also expect that you have:
Required
- An academic degree in Information Science, Information Technology, Computer Science Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent work experience
- Hands on experience with M365, suite and collaboration tools
- Technical understanding of the platform and of cloud environment
- Experience with stakeholder management and business understanding
- Excellent communication skills and user training experience
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Desirable
- NGO-experience
- Experience working in global and cross functional teams
- Knowledge of Danish, French or Spanish
