The Opportunity
Your role
The role exists to operationalise the 5-year country strategy by providing a technical steer towards the approved strategic direction while building on the gains made under past and existing projects and programmes. The incumbent oversees the full portfolio of post award management of programmes, their approaches and procedures, delivered through projects. The postholder leads the end-to-end process of programming, guided by Plan International’s Global programme thematic frameworks and project management standards. The Director of Programmes also provides thought leadership on innovative and bold programme solutions and guides the programmes team to realise our strategic ambition. Furthermore, the role ensures collaborations internally and externally in quality programming, sharing knowledge, co-designing, and coordinating with various stakeholders from project participants to Government and NGO partners.
The Director of Programmes reports to the Country Director and is the programme department leader of a geographically dispersed team of four Programme Area Managers, and six Technical Leads, who in turn lead a programmes team of approximately 100 staff. The postholder has delegated financial authority of €500,000 currently and are a budget holder for approximately €300,000.

You will bring genuine passion, determination, and fresh thinking to our work – with the aim of expanding both our reach and our impact, and making change work for millions of children.
