Who we are
PSI is a network of locally rooted, globally connected organizations working to achieve consumer-powered healthcare — people-centered health systems that ensure quality, affordable care wherever and whenever it is needed. Our origins in sexual and reproductive health have grown into a broader mission. Today, we work with the public and private sectors as well as local communities, prioritizing people’s voice and choice and developing solutions to meet their essential health needs. Over the past five decades, we have helped push boundaries, break taboos, set trends, and develop innovative solutions to complex global health challenges.
Join us!
PSI/Madagascar has been working to strengthen the health system in Madagascar for over 20 years, and currently manages an extensive and varied portfolio of donor funded health projects spanning HIV, Tuberculosis, Malaria, and Family Planning. PSI/Madagascar’s programs listen to the needs of the various communities and vulnerable groups that we serve and bring their voices to the fore. Generating consumer insights in this way, we can provide better technical support to the Government of Madagascar and a wide variety of local private sector and community partners, and address gaps in the national supply chain all the way down to the last mile, improve quality in the delivery of programs at all levels from the center down to the community level, and integrate digital and other innovations at all levels of the national system.
Reporting to the Country Representative, the Supply Chain & Procurement Director will play a critical strategic role for PSI/Madagascar in the implementation of a major portfolio of public health projects, including a more than $100m portfolio of projects over three years funded by the Global Fund for Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
PSI seeks a Supply Chain & Procurement Director that will lead a team to support all aspects of the supply chain at the country level in accordance with donor guidelines, from the international procurement of health commodities down to distribution at the community level through both the national supply chain system of the Ministry of Public Health, and through commercial channels. The role will be responsible for the procurement of all related non-health products & services for PSI/Madagascar’s programs; develop approaches for strategic procurement and external relationship building; and mentor and build the capacity of the procurement team and internal and external stakeholders related to good procurement practice.

The candidate we hire will embody PSI’s corporate values:
Measurement: You use hard evidence to make decisions and guide your work. You set clear goalposts in advance and explain clearly if you need to move them.
Pragmatism: You’ll strive to deliver the best possible result with the resources available. You won’t be paralyzed by a need to make things perfect.
Honesty: You own your mistakes and are open about your shortcomings – it’s the only way you’ll learn and improve.
Collaboration: You’ll quickly establish a mental map of whom you can rely on for what, on your team, at headquarters, and in our country offices – if you try to do it all yourself, you won’t succeed.
Trust: You accept limits to your sphere of control and give colleagues the benefit of the doubt.
Commitment: You are in it for the long-haul and want to grow with the organization, just like PSI serves its consumers and partners with host-country governments through thick and thin.
