This position will manage the planning and implementation of CARE USA’s donor events primarily supporting the Resource Development IFS team. We are looking for a dynamic, “take charge” events guru who can manage all event types from beginning to end including conferences, meetings and livestream broadcasts to help engage current and prospective donors. Our IFS focused events will help position CARE as technical leaders in poverty-fighting approaches.

He/She will help produce virtual donor briefings focused on thought leadership, technical briefings, emergency response and donor education. Key responsibilities include online and in-person event design, technical and content logistics, speaker coordination/support, event communications (invitations, RSVPs, stewardship), internal event coordination/mapping, external membership and industry event tracking, and CRM record updates. The role requires strong project management, event production, technology acumen, and relationship building skills.

The position reports to the Events Manager and will be part of our amazing marketing team. This position is based in Washington, D.C.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Produce 6-10 thought leadership and technical briefing events annually.

  • Plan, coordinate and manage logistics for thought leadership, briefings, panel discussions, and donor engagement to support long-term positioning for bids or growth opportunities.
  • Organize and coordinate 2-4 strategic thought leadership presentations at USAID/CDC/DOS to profile the work of CO and HQ technical teams.
  • As needed, provide logistic support for small senior staff engagements with donors including liaising with donor schedulers, printing marketing materials, and note taking.

2.Quarterly development trends and regular emergency briefing events

  • Develop and produce online, in-person or hybrid event series that engages experts and donors in dialogue around global trends in international development (3-4 annually)
  • Manage pre-, during, and post-event logistics including invitations, RSVPs, talking points, speaker support, CRM updates, scheduling, technology set up and facilitation, stewardship.
  • As needed, manage all logistics and technology for online emergency briefing events with CARE leadership and technical/field experts.

3.Develop, manage and communicate shared calendar of events for division

  • Gather, coordinate and navigate CARE’s larger calendar of events that could be offered to supporters or need to be scheduled around, including: Events planned by partners that can/should have CARE participation (USAID, FAO, etc.)
  • CEO Office and Marketing signature events
  • Corporate Council and Major Gifts National Committee
  • Membership events – SID Washington, Interaction, INSIDE NGO, etc.
  • Relevant conferences – coordinating technical staff attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with equivalent 5 + years of practical experience in event production including managing online event platforms
  • Excellent project management, event planning, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
  • Experience with CRMs, Salesforce preferred
  • Event analysis capabilities and data-informed decision-making skills.
  • Ability to adapt to business needs and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to see things from a strategic perspective and formulate project plans that tie back to organizational and team objectives.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team-oriented environment.
