Job Description
Unleash your passion for EdTech to help deliver transformative advisory and technology services to clients and partner organisations. Utilise effective technology design skills to accelerate technology supported education and training, bringing new opportunity to excluded communities, and bridging the digital divide.

Inclusiv Education is no ordinary social enterprise.

We’re transforming the lives of teachers, trainers and learners by increasing access to quality education and training opportunities through Education Technology. Our mission responds to the challenges of achieving digital inclusion and access to education for all children and youth. We build capacity among teachers and trainers and create lasting impact within the International Development sector through supporting EdTech in sustainable and context relevant forms, positioning teachers and trainers at the centre of education and training.

Inclusiv Education is still in the start-up phase, working to build systems and processes to ensure quality delivery of programs. We are a team of problem solvers and are looking for people who are suited to working in a start-up environment, are adaptive in their work style, and are passionate about using e-learning to increase access to quality education in some of the most challenging environments.

Where you come in:

In this full-time, permanent position* (part-time applicants will be considered at 4 days per week), you will manage our suite of e-learning technologies, our internal IT systems, and product engineering. You will report to our General Manager, and work closely with the Program Delivery and Impact team and the Executive Director of Product and Strategy. We are open to candidates being based in Australia, Asia, Europe or East Africa.

You will make an impact by:

  • Designing effective technology solutions to meet the needs of partners and clients in low-tech settings (solution engineering),
  • Ensuring Inclusiv Education’s internal and external technologies are highly available and well supported,
  • Leading on the engineering of Inclusiv Education’s technology products in line with the approved product roadmap,
  • Providing expert and evidence-based technology advice to inform product management, and
  • Supporting the Program Delivery and Impact team with the configuration and delivery of the technology components of Inclusiv Education’s e-learning projects.

Does this sound like you?

We are a small start-up that is still learning and growing. We are looking for someone who thrives in an agile environment, is flexible with changing priorities as we learn from both our successes and failures and is a self-starter who is able to take initiative to spot opportunities, make plans, develop goals and bring new ideas to life.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about the transformative power of e-learning to increase access to quality education and are committed to making e-learning technology work in low-tech environments and building the capacity of teachers and trainers to use e-learning in their teaching methods.
  • Willing to promote and endorse education technology as a key contribution to international development, and
  • Able to develop fit-for-purpose processes required and to flourish in a start-up scenario.

This role requires:

  • Knowledge of the e-learning industry and practical experience in managing educational technology deployments in an international development setting.
  • Experience or exposure to Tech 4 Development or EdTech, as well as significant hands-on practice in conceptualising, developing, and implementing technology-based solutions that facilitate education and capacity building outcomes.
  • Experience in using Moodle, Moodle Workplace and other relevant learning management systems.
  • Experience in overseeing and determining timeframes for major IT or product development projects.
  • Post-graduate tertiary qualification (Information Technology, Science or Computer Science), or equivalent relevant experience.

Working at Inclusiv Education is more than just a job.

It’s the feeling of knowing that your work is contributing to making the world a better place for those learners who are unable to access quality learning opportunities and working with others who feel the same. In addition to a connection to social causes, you’ll benefit from:

  • Individual learning plans to assist in your career development,
  • Internal employment and development opportunities,
  • Friendly and flexible work environment,
