IFC’s private equity (PE) funds strategy focuses on supporting: (i) growth equity funds; (ii) venture capital funds; (iii) small business funds focused on frontier, FCS and IDA countries; and (iv) selectively, climate change, infrastructure, and sectors Funds. Department is seeking a E T Temporary – Program Assistant to work closely with the PE team, which is responsible for the design, negotiation, structuring, and subsequent supervision of the Corporation’s fund investment projects. The position will report to the team’s Global Head at Washington DC location.
Duties and Accountabilities:
• Provide all required operational and administrative support for the PE Funds team including:
Organizing weekly staff meetings and regular Funds Investment Committee (IC) Meetings. Duties include all logistical coordination, circulation of agendas, meeting notes, filing of materials and decisions, etc.
• Keep track of all follow-up items from staff meetings and Funds IC meetings and follow-up with staff responsible for these items.
• Maintain PE Funds team investment pipeline by pro-actively engaging with Regional Leads and transaction leaders to seek their updates.
• Proactively monitor project cycles of projects to anticipate needs (internal or external) and assist with project cycle processing steps.
• Provide administrative support for the quarterly portfolio meetings under the guidance of the Portfolio Manager of the PE Funds team.
• Maintain group client database, including in Outlook, LinkedIn, etc.
• Undertake representational duties on behalf of the unit head, to include serving as the first point of contact and liaising with clients and others both inside and outside IFC/WBG.
• Collect industry research reports and team presentations (Internally and externally) and save them on the internal drive.
• Maintain publication subscriptions used by the PE funds team.
• Organize and maintain the internal drive used by the PE funds team.
• Support in the organization and coordination of unit/departmental events and learning programs (conferences, workshops, and training programs). The Assistant may also be asked to support investment officers or help organize key events in other CDF divisions.
• Contribute to departmental tasks as defined from time to time.
Selection Criteria
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, or other relevant fields.
• Minimum of 4 years relevant work experience.
• Able to organize, coordinate, monitor and implement tasks/events.
• Able to demonstrate ownership and accountability results as well as innovation and creativity.
• Research skills.
• Advanced knowledge of IFC’s procedures and processes; or strong previous relevant experience.
• Organizational, administrative, and time management skills with proven ability to work promptly and efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
• Ability to think proactively and independently, analyze problems and identify appropriate solutions.
• Ability to address multiple tasks in an effective manner.
• Ability to use relevant computer software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent team player with outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels (inside and outside IFC) with demonstrated maturity, team spirit, and responsiveness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Language Preference: English is essential, Spanish, or Chinese is desirable
