The Vice Presidency for Corporate Support (COSVP) integrates Budget and Business Administration, HR, Communication, Partnerships, and Information & Technology functions under one umbrella to enable execution of IFC’s management and operational needs in the best way. Within COSVP, Budget and Business Administration department (CBA) plays a pivotal role in allocating IFC scarce resources and aligning them to IFC 3.0 by leveraging budget as a management tool to mainstream the corporate strategy, creating profitability and efficiency metrics, improving the scorecard, and overseeing procurement and facilities administration.
CBA is seeking a qualified candidate to support the CBA Central Budget unit (CBACB) responsible for enabling the development and maintenance of technology-based systems with which CBA manages critical data and processes. The candidate will work under the supervision of the Operations Officer and will support a team of subject matter experts (SMEs) for SAP’s Budget (Funds Management) and Costing (Controlling) modules, the Budget & Planning system (SAP BPC), the IBIS Project Budgeting system, and the Time Recording System (TRS). The candidate will also support the management of the IFC Budget Support Help Desk, coordinating trainings for updates to systems, reporting, analytics, processes & policies.
Main tasks and responsibilities of the ETC include:
• Define and document CBA business needs in liaison with CBA staff and their clients, including business process mapping, guiding clients to drive process standardization, simplification and risk control. Prepare business requirements documents for use both by business users and systems developers.
• Contribute to the implementation of CBA system upgrades and enhancements, working in tandem with Information Technology Solutions (CIT/ITS) and relevant stakeholders to ensure high quality results are delivered on time, budget and to standard. This includes execution and coordination user acceptance testing (UAT), solution roll out and adoption activities with business leads, user community, and ITS.
• Collaborate with SMEs within VPU and cross-functionally to resolve complex queries regarding costing, planning, and monitoring across assigned solutions portfolio including SAP, BPC, BW, Analysis for Office, Power BI, VAA Tool, Robotics & AI platforms.
• Provide technical guidance and user advisory for issues involving the coordination with business and various CIT/ITS teams to achieve issue resolution within established standards. Document, track and communicate resolution and status of the issues to clients, partners, and management.
• Manage the development and adoption of best practice knowledge management disciplines in systems support, including (a) ensuring clear and concise business process documentation is in place for core processes to help optimize and improve business performance and operational agility, and (b) building skills and experience in data, process and systems support within the immediate team and across CBA.
• Responsible for steering the definition of CBA’s requirements for the new ERP and coordinating amongst multiple SMEs within the department. Responsible for drafting the test scenarios and test cases for CBA and leading CBA’s participation in the user testing phases of the ERP project.
• Responsible for coordinating and documenting CBA’s As-Is and To-Be business processes with input from multiple SMEs within the department and oversee required maintenance for CBA-owned systems.
• Contribute to Quality Assurance and validation of resource management data across various systems and platforms and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures are up to date and accurate especially with a view to ensuring Business Process Continuity.
Selection Criteria
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or Information Systems, with 2-4 years of working experience with the budget, planning & forecasting, management accounting, and financial management business processes.
• Recognized professional accreditation (CPA, CFA, CMA, CIMA, ACCA, etc.) is a plus.
• Good working knowledge of ERP, SAP, BW/AO, BPC and Power BI. Knowledge with IFC’s IBIS Project Budgeting system and SAP integrations is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills. Proficient in other Microsoft Office tools particularly PowerPoint and Word.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to process simplification, standardization, automation and innovation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously and to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Sound judgment, proactive and action oriented, high degree of initiative and ability to work independently with minimum direction
• Strong problem solving, conceptual, and analytical skills. Ability to conduct independent research and analysis, identify issues, formulate options, draw conclusions, submit recommendations, and convince others on a course of action.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to prepare, present and discuss findings in written or oral form. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with internal/external partners in a multicultural environment. Ability to develop solid relationships with key stakeholders and build productive partnerships.
