IFC’s ESG Sustainability Advice and Solutions Department (CEG) helps IFC integrate risk management throughout the investment and advisory project cycles and helps clients identify and mitigate environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks.
The CEGGS team supports IFS’s ESG risk management processes, ensures that E&S due diligence and monitoring activities are conducted in a manner compliant with CEG’s internal review procedures, and contributes to the development of various tools, systems, and procedures to facilitate consistent application of IFC ESG standards. CEGGS also increasingly conducts analytical work and needs more support in that space.

The CEGGS team is recruiting a highly motivated extended-term consultant (ETC) as an analyst to support CEG operations and ESG risk management activities.

Duties and Accountabilities

•  Provide analytical, research and administrative support to CEGGS team. This support includes, under the guidance of the team lead and other senior staff, producing the CEG Monthly Performance Report, providing quarterly E&S compliance data for portfolio scorecard and Board reporting and answering queries, and assisting E&S portfolio reviews, and other ad-hoc reports upon request. Tasks entail data collection from various CEG/IFC databases, data quality checking and verification, and data analysis and presentation,

•  Support of the implementation and institutionalization of:
o  Process improvements, internal procedures, and databases.
o  Portfolio performance review
o  ESG portfolio trends and behaviors
o  ESG risk Reporting

•  Maintain current knowledge of CEG internal documentation systems. Act as backup for training on the usage of the systems and serve as liaison between users and IT support personnel for system maintenance and modifications.
•  Collect data for analysis and reporting. Analyze portfolio data and provide inputs to reports identifying trends, present results, both in standardized and on-demand reports to different audiences.
•  Understand different ESG data sources and their strengths and weaknesses. Manage corporate databases and ESG document repositories.
•  Oversee the completion status of records for CEG internal documentation systems.
•  Assist in staff orientation and training on ESG risk management systems. Provide training and guidance on the usage of the ESG management applications.
•  Supervise the periodic update of the High-Risk Project List database, oversee record quality, and closely analyze project development, supervision visits, Ombudsman cases, and changes of risk level.
•  Guide users of the Supervision Visit Planner, and issue periodic reports to monitor the delivery of CEG Supervision Plan.
•  Monitor and track completion and documentation of Annual Monitoring Reports on a monthly basis.
•  Monitor and analyze E&S Action Plan completion status and disclosures.
•  Analyze Time Recording System and short-term consultant time analysis to assess and report on CEG staff and consultants’ workload.
•  Contribute to evaluating uses of internal and external data sources for different purposes in AI (Artificial Intelligence) applications.
•  Be creative in using available data to create ESG indicators and describe risk profiles.
•  Engage with E&S (Environmental & Social) specialists to keep up to date in the Sustainability
•  Rating Tool, the Supervision Visit Planner to reduce the backlog of other operational records.
•  Assist Regional Team Leaders with pipeline reports and special reports as requested.

 

Selection Criteria

•  University degree in a relevant discipline (business administration, economics, sustainability) with 5 years of relevant work experience.
•  Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills.
•  Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
•  Outstanding organizational/time management skills.
•  Ability to work effectively under pressure in a diverse, team-oriented environment.
•  A self-starter and quick learner with keen eyes for detail and the ability to take initiative.
•  Ability to communicate and present clearly and concisely verbally and in writing.
•  Demonstrated strong abilities with Word and PowerPoint, Excel advanced skills. PowerBi experience is a plus.
•  Relevant experience in ESG management system, a plus.
•  Familiarity with IFC business and procedures, a plus.
