Information technology is an integral part of the strategic initiatives for all the Core Business Functions at IFC. Corporate Information Technologies (CIT) Teams provides comprehensive IT applications and support for IFC’s operations. There is a rich and diverse landscape of business applications that encompasses a wide variety of In-house and Customized COTS products (such as ACBS, Investran, etc.,), and SaaS solutions (such as Oracle ERP on Cloud) which meets the business needs of IFC departments.

The CIT Finance (CITFN) unit’s mission is to: 1) partner with clients to provide modern and reliable solutions for evolving finance and accounting business needs, compliance, and requirements, and 2) to collaborate with clients and relevant IT units to enable reliable, transparent, and up-to-date data to facilitate improved business decision-making. CITFN is currently implementing several new requirements in the current and new IT systems to incorporate new financial products.

CIT is looking a highly motivated, experienced and versatile ET Consultant, IT Project Management, who will lead the project team and manage end-to-end IT implementation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of highly skilled, diverse, and technical professionals and contribute to the department priorities. The position will be based in Washington DC.

Roles & Responsibilities:


General Responsibilities:
•  Define project scope and schedule for assigned projects while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value to clients; organize and lead project status meetings; prepare and track project progress; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects
•  Take full project life cycle ownership, including full implementation from initiation to deployment.
•  Manage expectations for project deliverables, client communications, and help to implement an effective project oversight and governance.
•  Implement a well-defined project management process and ensure ongoing process improvement to apply best practices for Agile Project Management
•  Ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution and encourage a sustainable pace with high levels of quality output.
•  Measure project performance using appropriate tools, and techniques.
•  Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
•  Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
•  Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Specific Responsibilities:

Planning
•  Provide effort, cost estimation and spend plan
•  Seek funding approval via IT Governance process
•  Develop Team Operating Model
•  Onboard and Mobilize teams (including vendor resources)
•  Develop performance management plan
•  Initiate Project Assessment and Implementation

Project Tracking
•  Manage Business Requirements Elaboration process
•  Track and ensure all functional and non-functional requirements are considered and incorporated in the proposed design
•  Ensure all requirements are being addressed during implementation
•  Allocate and track work assignments for each stream
•  Track detailed Implementation status by Iteration, Phase, and Stream
•  Manage Overall Quality Assurance (Test planning, Test Execution, Test Reporting, etc.)
•  Manage and close all issues and defects
•  Perform checkpoints at major milestones and phase gates
•  Develop and manage deployment plan and activities
•  Manage project budget

Manage Risks and Issues
•  Coordinate between streams (Conduct stand-up and coordination meetings)
•  Capture, Monitor, and publish performance reports
•  Manage interdependencies
•  Track and report on risks and issues
•  Create and define risks contingencies and plans.
•  Report and escalate any issues to team lead and management as needed.
•  Seek feedback from management when and wherever necessary.

Reporting and Stakeholder Management
•  Review status reports from the team, providing weekly status reports to the PMO/stakeholders and taking appropriate actions accordingly.
•  Be focal point of contact for all the escalations related to project management
•  Send crisp and clear status to PMO
•  Conduct periodic meetings with stakeholders
•  Prepare and Execute Communication plan

Project Closure
•  Develop Stabilization and transition to Application Support Team (AST) plan
•  Submit Project Closure documents

 

Selection Criteria

•  Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience in Project Management or relevant area or Master’ s degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
•  Role Specific Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT project management.  Experience & knowledge in SDLC, SCRUM/Agile methodologies are required.
•  Experience working on financial, or banking Systems is required
•  Experience working in a multi-vendor and global environment is a plus
•  PMP or PRINCE certification is a plus
•  Experience working with multi-function project teams including Developers, Business Analysts, and QA Personnel.
•  Team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources.
•  Stays abreast of new technology trends in project management area, and the broader IT industry.
•  Strong interpersonal skills including, collaborating, and team building
•  Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
•  Solid understanding of and proven experience in using appropriate tools: Agile Project Management tools such as Jira/ Azure DevOps or equivalent.
•  Excellent presentation and documentation skills.
•  Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals.
•  Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view.
•  Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
