The India Country Management Unit is seeking a highly experienced professional to join the team. The selected candidate will play a critical role in coordinating government-level engagements, developing investment strategies, and monitoring IFC activities in alignment with national and global strategies.
 
Scope of Work
 
Roles and Responsibilities
 
Coordination of Government-Level Engagements
•  Facilitate and coordinate engagements with state governments and relevant national authorities
•  Develop and maintain strong relationships with key government stakeholders to support IFC’s strategic objectives
 
 India-Africa Investment Strategy
•  Develop and implement strategies to enhance India-Africa investment initiatives
•  Identify and promote investment opportunities that align with IFC’s goals and the interests of both regions
 
 Integration with World Bank Group
•  Identify opportunities to combine IFC investments with World Bank projects and other Multilateral Development Bank projects to maximize development impact
•  Track relevant World Bank Group projects and sectors, to identify ways to improve alignment and collaboration. Coordinate and lead select WBG joint initiatives, in cooperation with senior staff
 
Monitoring and Mobilization of IFC Activities
 •  Monitor IFC activities and results against national and global strategies, including those of the Government of India (GoI) and the World Bank Group (WBG)
•  Document and identify how IFC’s programs are aligned with the Government strategies, WBG Scorecard and Gender Strategy
 
 Reporting and Documentation
•  Write briefs, summaries, and reports on activities and outcomes for senior management
•  Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities to relevant stakeholders

 

Selection Criteria

 

•  Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, International Relations, or a related field
•  Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in investment, project management, or related fields, with a strong focus on government engagement and strategy development
 
Skills and Competencies
•  Proven ability to engage with high-level government officials and stakeholders
•  Strong understanding of investment strategies and development finance
•  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
•  Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment
•  Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality briefs, reports and presentations, in a short time frame
•  Knowledge of the Government of India and State Government operations and strategies as related to Infrastructure, Private sector development, Financial Sector, MSMEs, Climate Change, Manufacturing, and Industrial Development, is highly desirable
 
Evaluation Criteria
•  Relevant educational background and professional experience
•  Demonstrated ability to coordinate and engage with government stakeholders
•  Proven track record in developing and implementing investment strategies
•  Strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills
 
Reporting Line
The ETC will report to the Country Manager, India and Maldives and work closely with other members of the India Country Management Unit and relevant departments within the IFC and WBG.
 
Note: This TOR is subject to change based on the evolving needs of the India Country Management Unit and the IFC. The selected candidate may be required to undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by the Country Manager.
