Information technology is an integral part of the strategic initiatives for all the Core Business Functions at IFC. Corporate Information Technologies (CIT) Teams provides comprehensive IT support for IFC’s Investment & Advisory Services, Financial Operations, Treasury & the Asset Management Company. A robust engagement model with business ensures prioritization of the business requirements & focus on delivery. The application landscape encompasses a wide variety of In-house and Customized COTS products (such as ACBS, Summit, Investran, etc.) which meets the business needs of IFC departments.        


CIT’s Data Engineering Unit (CITDE) is seeking an experienced Agile Scrum Master to facilitate and coordinate agile projects and work collaboratively and efficiently to deliver high-quality solutions. The Unit is responsible for delivering Data solution and Data products by onboarding corporate data onto Data Lake, building Data Lakehouse, DataMart and curated data products.

The role will work closely with the data solutions development team to ensure that the work progresses on schedule, within budget, and to the desired level of quality. Additionally, you will serve as a coach to the project team – helping to foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring that the team is meeting its objectives consistently.  This position will report to the Data Engineering solutions Program Lead.


Duties & Accountabilities: 

•  Facilitate multiple agile Projects by organizing Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
•  Team Support: Coach and mentor the development team on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and self-organization to enhance productivity and collaboration.
•  Product Owner Collaboration: Collaborate with the product owner to ensure the product backlog is well-groomed, prioritized, and ready for the upcoming sprints.
•  Remove Obstacles: Identify and remove any impediments or obstacles that may hinder the team’s progress and escalate issues when necessary.
•  Metrics and Reporting: Track and report key metrics related to team velocity, sprint progress, and overall project health to stakeholders.
•  Help ensure communication with clients on project status and deliverables.
•  Continuous Improvement: Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives and implementing actions to enhance team performance.
•  Stakeholder Management: Foster effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring their involvement and understanding of the Scrum process.

Selection Criteria

•  Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience OR, equivalent combination of education and experience
•  Minimum 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master/Agile Project manager or similar role in agile product development environments.
•  Experience in working with Cloud Data warehousing, Data Lakehouse implementations is preferred. Knowledge related to Data Engineering to help facilitate the project teams is critical
•  Prior experience working with Multilateral Development Banks (MDB’s) or Developmental Financial Institutions (DFI’s) is a plus
•  Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification
•  Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills.
•  Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
•  Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
•  Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
•  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
