The International Finance Corporation Resident Mission in Beijing is currently looking for a Driver under Extended Term Temporary (ETT) contract to provide effective and efficient day to day logistics transport function for the Office. The Driver will drive IFC official vehicles to transport of authorized personnel. The Driver will report directly to the Office Administrator for day-to-day assignment. The duties and responsibilities of the Driver will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Provide transportation for official business to the Country Manager and office staff and visiting IFC staff as needed in Beijing City and other cities as required;
• Ensure staff follows Road Safety Guidelines as passengers and ensure safety of passengers and vehicle (lock vehicle doors, safe parking areas, identify safe routes, etc);
• Deliver official mail and documents to government agencies, banks or clients Embassies, etc. and pick up documents as required;
• Responsible to update IFC vehicles logbook of vehicles use on a regular basis for proper recording of mileage;
• Ensure periodic maintenance and repair needs of IFC’s vehicles are performed; responsible for update of maintenance record is kept accordingly;
• Responsible of vehicles insurance;
• Perform daily vehicles security check up; ensure safe keeping of vehicles accessories (e.g. jack, first aid kit, spare tires, flashlight, etc.) regularly;
• Assist and follow up of incoming shipments including customs clearances, as needed;
• Ensure that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident;
• Follow UN directives; be informed of daily security advisory provided by UNDSS and drive accordingly;
• Support Country Office administrative functions when driver services are not solicited including sorting and distributing incoming mail and faxes, photocopying, delivering urgent mail/messages, obtaining authorizations, and handling courier services;
• Perform administrative and office management safety and maintenance duties, including coordination with local administration, police security forces, and office suppliers and contractors;
• Attend safe driving training arranged by the office.
Selection Criteria
• Have at least five years of experience as a driver preferably with international organizations;
• Have high school above or equivalent diploma and reasonable level of English comprehension (minimum speaking);
• Be able to use computer to search locations and submit time sheet in the system;
• Be able to communicate efficiently via texting/wechat and use Apps for road navigation;
• Must hold a valid license and any applicable permits (e.g. diplomatic driver license) to operate the class of motor vehicle that they will be driving with certification of good driving record or equivalent reference check;
• Have excellent knowledge of Beijing City’s traffic rules and be extremely road safety conscious;
• Be able to work under pressure, flexible with working hours and prompt with timings;
• Have good communication skills and polite manners;
• Be a committed team player able to work in a multi-cultural environment;
• Mature judgment;
• Willingness to work overtime when needed;
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion; and
• Must be medically fit for driving and pass a pre-employment medical examination arranged by the office; the same medical examination will be undertaken every two years after onboarding.
