Working in collaboration with local businesses, government, and other development partners, IFC aims to support sustainable and inclusive economic progress that is aligned with Pakistan’s national priorities.

 

IFC is seeking to recruit a dynamic, well-organized, and suitably qualified candidate to fill the post of an Extended-Term Temporary (ETT) based in Karachi, Pakistan. The candidate will report to the IFC Country Manager and work under the supervision of the Principal Country Officer (PCO) and Administrative and Client Support (ACS) Coordinator. The candidate will work as an ETT to provide administrative and operational support to Investment and Advisory industry teams at the Karachi office.

 

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Roles and Responsibilities

 

• Provide a full range of administrative support to the Investment and Advisory industry team, including scheduling and calendar management; managing travel arrangements; preparing routine correspondence; assisting with the preparation, editing, and distribution of reports, documents, and meeting materials; receiving/distributing shipments and mail.

• Provide support to Industry teams visiting missions through involvement in the preparation, coordination, planning, and logistics of visits. Also, assist in gathering information, obtaining required security clearances, obtaining visas, and conducting mission/visit follow-up.

• Support the industry team’s administrative procurement needs; facilitate hiring of consultants and firms and coordinate invoicing; manage consultant travel arrangements.

• Assist in preparation and logistical planning for events, e.g., conferences, workshops, negotiations.

• Uses word processing, shared drives, and desktop publishing skills to produce text, reports, figures, graphs, etc., according to standard WBG format.

• Maintain current distribution lists and phone/address lists of project/client contacts and distribute documents for the industry teams.

• Undertake ad-hoc administrative tasks as assigned by the Country Management Unit (CMU).

• Provide back-up support to the other ACS in their absence or during periods of heavy workload.

 

Selection Criteria

 

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience working within a project team and familiarity with companies that maintain strong systems and processes.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, effectively interacting with internal and external clients and staff at all levels.
• Strong command of oral and written English.
• Ability to prioritize workload and work well under pressure with minimum supervision to meet deadlines.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Note: The selected candidate will be offered a one-year appointment, renewable at the discretion of the World Bank Group, and subject to a lifetime maximum ET appointment of three years. If an ET appointment ends before a full year, it is considered as a full year toward the lifetime maximum. Former and current ET staff who have completed all or any portion of their third-year ET appointment are not eligible for future ET appointments.
