ABOUT THE JOB

Economic Recovery Officer (MSE officer) is responsible for ensuring the high-quality delivery of specialized project activities requiring skill sets (for example, implementation of Economic Recovery/Livelihood activities). Project activities and deliverables will be determined in line with DRC and donor SME policies and guidelines. Besides, the EcRec (MSE) Officer’s objective is to achieve overall MSE activities. Particularly beneficiary assessment, provide business development support to small businesses and women and men-led enterprises at the project level. And also he/she will be contributing to market assessment, and coordination internally (emergency, protection, HMA, MEAL, and Support services department) and externally (Communities, DoRR, DoE, NEPA, DolSA, and other related stakeholders. And will report directly to the Economic Recovery Team leader

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct coordination meetings with relevant stakeholders and community leaders
  • Responsible for beneficiary assessment and verification with the consideration of SME criteria and SOPs.
  • Responsible for the preparation of business development training manuals and materials
  • Provide timely business development training to selected small business owners and women/men-led businesses
  • Provide support to the EcRec team in preparation of a viable business plan for beneficiaries
  • Responsible for conducting market assessments for beneficiaries
  • Review and recommend the business plan and support the line management for the approval of business grants in line with DRC and donor policies
  • Follow up with MSE beneficiaries through

-Conduct regular follow-ups, support coaching beneficiaries

-Identifying their problems and providing support in the revision of business plans

  • Contribute to facilitate the market linkage/information with supported beneficiaries
  • Maintain the record for all the MSEs and update them accordingly
  • Report regularly to the Economic Recovery TL progress and challenges faced by micro-enterprise or cash-for-work beneficiaries
  • Any other task assigned by the line manager.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required in implementing livelihood/ economic Recovery interventions oriented to micro/cash for work activities.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required on projects targeting urban and peri-urban vulnerable population
  • Demonstrated experience in providing training and mobilizing communities
  • Demonstrated experience in projects including cash grants for business is an asset
  • Computer skills, particularly MS Office; Excel, and Word

Education/qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, agriculture engineering, Economics, or related subjects is an asset

Languages:

  • Pashto (Fluent)
  • Dari (Fluent)
  • English ( Advanced)
