These attitudes and beliefs shall guide our actions and relationships. The purpose of the Education Assistant position is to assist in the day-to-day implementation of the CC project. Key Tasks and Assignments:

  • Under the supervision of the line manager, facilitate awareness-raising, sensitization, orientation, and assistance activities by the standard operating procedures, guidelines, and instructions.
  • Implement the program in the assigned location; she/he is directly accountable for the quality and timely implementation of all planned activities and achievement of the targets set; she/he should timely flag potential barriers and risks and request assistance.
  • Create a safe classroom/ learning center environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of children and youth both inside and outside the center
  • Provides direction, assigns tasks, gives instructions to contingent workers (e.g. trainers), and evaluates personal performance.
  • Monitors the progress of activities of assigned daily workers and ensures they are implemented and conform to planning and quality standards.
  • Take part in mobilization and conducting of needs assessments, studies, and research using focus group discussions, interviews, and questionnaires.
  • Conducts outreach activities within the camps and serves as a link between NRC programs and the local community.
  • Contribute to the preparation of relevant documents and material.
  • Ensure the monitoring and quality check of the NRC activities conducted in the assigned location by contributing to data collection, data entry, documentation, data review, and drafting of regular activity implementation and monitoring reports, as per NRC log frame and donor requirements.
  • Monitor the inventory and alert the officer when more educational materials are needed.
  • Contribute to the recruitment of contingent workers as needed. accountable for ensuring that the newly recruited resources are properly inducted/trained, and their work assignments are managed properly. Keep track and record attendance of contingent workers and submit for payments.
  • Establish excellent relations with beneficiaries and key stakeholders including understanding the needs of beneficiaries through regular visits and frequent contact.
  • Assists training programs to contribute to sector-wide educational improvements and curricular activities.

Key Education and Skills Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in education or a social sciences-related field is preferred or significant experience in the field of education, youth/child, or a humanitarian setting.
  • Minimum 01 year of working experience in the field of education in a humanitarian/recovery context (Coxs Bazar refugee context or Bashan Chor) with local or international NGOs.
  • Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts; ability to remain calm and professional in tense situations.
  • Experience in the field of education, youth/child, or a humanitarian setting,
  • Knowledge of the software programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Professional fluency in the Bangla and English language (ability to communicate in Chittagonian dialect).
