The purpose of the BLP Master trainer  (Capacity building) position is to provide technical support on Better Learning Programme (BLP) and Teacher Training to NRC and local partners’ staff and to ensure quality implementation of the interventions.

Responsibilities:

Generic responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support on the Better Learning Programme (BLP) and Teacher Training to NRC and local partners’ staff and ensure high quality of the training packages’ implementation.
  • Identify and respond to capacity building needs and provide systematic training to NRC’s and local partners’ staff.
  • Support evidence-based learning for programme development.
  • Ensure that lessons learned are properly documented, effectively disseminated and where appropriate incorporated into wider design and advocacy initiatives.
  • Conduct regular field visits to provide supportive supervision to NRC field staff and local partners.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify psychosocial support needs within education.
  • Continuously develop and update training materials and tools to meet the needs of various areas when rolling out BLP.
  • Ensure that the BLP and Teacher Training data are properly updated, managed, and sorted for the reporting purpose.
  • Ensure that procedural tools are developed and used properly by the local partners.
  • Produce high quality reports and analysis of the training interventions.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Provide programme audits, feedback sessions, and capacity development sessions for staff regarding BLP and Teacher Training.
  • Provide technical support, based upon an assessment or monitoring, and devise a clear action plan (including training)
  • Organize and conduct team meetings and workshops.
  • Support with an After-Action review of the entire BLP and Teacher Training intervention.

Generic professional competencies:

  • University degree in Education (Education Management, Planning, General Education and capacity building).
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in implementation of education or similar projects in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Experience of planning and conducting trainings and capacity building sessions
  • Experience of working in Education Emergency is an advantage.
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal

Context/ Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Should have geographical experience.
  • Knowledge of the local languages – Dari and Pashto.
  • Experience in capacity building and training of staff
  • Experience of coordination and advocacy work
  • Political and cultural awareness and experience of working where insecurity is an issue
  • Strong analytical thinking skills (qualitative and qualitative)
