- Role and responsibilities
The Project Officer is responsible for the day to day implementation of the Education activities in Aweil.
Generic responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to NRC policies, tool, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements
- Implement the Education activities according to strategy, proposals, budgets and plans
- Prepare periodic status reports and other documents as required by management
- Ensure proper filing of documents
- Break down the annual operational plans into weekly, monthly and quarterly implementation plans
- Coordinate with relevant partners
- Ensure that procurement, development and distribution of materials and equipment are timely and according to procedures
- Train and develop team
- Promote and share ideas for technical improvement in order to improve the quality of the activities
- Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist
Specific responsibilities
- Ensure correct data collection and tracking of all durable solutions education related activities and participate in compiling education related internal (bi-weekly, GORS, monthly Sitrep, quarterly) and external (interim and final) reports and IP Reporting and Monitoring Dashboard or any other tools.
- Take responsibility for any materials, tools, vehicles, communication equipment provided by NRC
- Lead in organizing and facilitating trainings programmes under education that contribute to achieve durable solutions
- Lead the Education emergency team in developing training programmes for teachers, PTAs and Children including follow-up and support.
- Participate in cluster trainings by offering technical skills and knowledge when required in consultation with the line manager.
- Determine training needs of teachers and CMCs from time together with the cluster and the Project coordinator
- Determine resource materials required for effective teaching including improvised teaching and learning materials to supplement stationeries supplied to schools.
- Establish appropriate teacher resource kits within learning centres in consultations with teachers and SMoGEI
- Develop and execute teacher CPD through in-service training in collaboration with SMoGEI
- Regular monitoring of schools targeted, timely payment of teachers and tutors incentives.
- Performance management of Education assistants under your responsibility in collaboration with the line manager
- Attend Education cluster meetings to share updates on achievements and challenges under durable solutions project.
- Other relevant tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.

- Strong organizational and logistical skills and the ability to work with little infrastructure and to function in difficult situations including limited transport options
