The Opportunity:

  • Update the situation in areas affected by the emergency, highlighting issues related to education and protection.
  • Contribute to the development of project proposals in the education area
  • Work with partners to carry out inclusive awareness raising activities in communities and ensure that all beneficiaries have access to project-related information through appropriate and relevant means.
  • Prepare training plans in collaboration with SDSMAS, distribution plans and organize distributions (distribution locations, calendar, monitoring and supervision, community engagement, Complaints and Feedback Mechanisms (CFM), Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and Child Protection, in coordination with other Project Officers and school authorities.
  • Conduct regular field visits to support monitoring activities (including activities related to teaching and learning) against the logical framework and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) milestones.
  • Under the guidance of the Emergency Education Manager and school authorities, support the development of school teaching/learning materials from locally available materials as required.

About you:

  • Degree in Education, Social Sciences or related areas with good knowledge of the National Education System.
  • Experience in project implementation, community mobilization, humanitarian issues and related areas.
  • Knowledge of INEE Minimum Standards, “Do No Harm!” principles, Esfera Project and CHS.
  • Time management skills;
  • Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Availability and flexibility to travel, including to remote locations
  • Good knowledge of the context of Cabo Delgado province in general, is an advantage.
  • proficiency in Portuguese, both verbal and written, as well as the local languages ​​spoken in Cabo Delgado.
  • Humanitarian programming experience
